When Prince William, and later Prince Harry, were born they immediately became 2nd and 3rd in succession behind Charles. Prince Andrew and his siblings were automatcially pushed down the line.

When I saw Charles standing vigil over his grandmother Queen Elizabeth you could see the utter devastation in his face. King Richard died in the late 1400's. If you know anything about genealogy you would know- you inherit an random 50% from each parent which means it is not an even 25% from each grandparent. For example by my DNA I show I share more centigrams with my 2 cousins on my paternal grandfather's family than I do my paternal grandmother so I inherited more of his DNA from my father. It is the reverse for my eldest sister. By the time you get to 4th great grandparents, (5 generations from you,) there are some 4th great grandparents you share no DNA.. Plus Richard was NOT a direct ancestor. His niece marred Henry VII. and what was that 16-17 generations before Prince William? So it is not surprising Richard shares no DNA with today's Royal family.

It's not SUPPOSED to get to "Princess ANNE" (spell her name correctly please); she is AFTER Andrew and Edward. And, it is supposed to GO THROUGH WILLIAM ALONE! The other children are to continue the line IF William could not have children, or if they died. If there were NO other children and William died without issue, the line would divert to the dukes (Kent or Gloucester) but are still WINDSORS. The monarchy is not a "round robin." From what I have read about Price Charles and Princess Diana , I think he was spoiled and was loved Camilla because she mothered him. He needed a lot of attention and couldn't stand the fact how the people loved Princess Diana. He was so insecure about it that he was cruel to his wife and pushed her toward suicide! I'd say Charles does well by distancing himself from Andrew. The order of succession was changed so that females are now in line just like males. Charles didn't take his brothers and sister out of the line. Charles' children would have always been next. Where did you get that it was any different?
