BIGGEST Rust Removal Job

On this episode we complete the biggest rust removal job to date. 40K sq ft of rust removal which includes sidewalks and curbs. I had my buddy Carey "Ce Foe" Stanley come out with me which he's also my teammate on the football field. The project went pretty smooth once I narrowed down the correct ratio to use. It took us 2 days to complete the project because of the afternoon rains but everything came out great. Make sure to like and subscribe to the channel for more content.

Great job bud! You should talk to Lori at PWP about a 1/2 all flo pump with a small air compressor to run it, with the air pumps like that you can put an actual pump sprayer tip on them, Doug Rucker has the tip, and you can have a normal softwash gun with Jrod for softwashing. But just Imagine having a 300' line on your truck mounted pump up sprayer. That way you can get a 30-50 gallon tank, just for the air pump. Makes jobs like this much easier and faster.

This is an unusual job. I already have a soft wash system on the rig. I love Lori im there all the time. They actually set up my very 1st rig, they are so awesome over there. Ive seen those all flo pumps they are great and can reach 3 stories easily too! but Im not interested in messing with an air compressor lol Trying to keep it very plain and simple.

No it will not. The rust will surely return over time because the water will be constantly sprayed onto the concrete. They have to fix their filter stations and keep an eyes on them for malfunctions.

Research pretty much and trying new stuff. If the tips are match for your machine and surface cleaner you'll never etch. Also never surface clean concrete under 2 years old. And info for bucket sprayer is 4k softwash on instagram

Nah the highest was 14oz per gallon for the more stubborn parts. But most of it 12oz was perfect with a little touch up

Is that rust leaching from the dirt or the water coming from the sprinklers?

I've never seen what you're talking about in FL. But that rust comes from the well system for the sprinklers. If there's not a filter installed the well rusts and therefore the water sprays all of that onto the concrete.

I have done a few sidewalks and drives that had rust that bad. But I had spare 26 gallon tank that I used to mix Oxalic Acid in and used my roof pump to spray with. Found out that you can get your mixture mixed when you put the oxalic in then add your water under pressure.

And does the acid inhance the brighness of the concrete or pavers as well like the rust aid does? I have seen you use both. I use rust aid myself. Never used the acid. I love rust aid for small projects. I think it works fine but the strength limit is already capped at whatever ratio it comes in. With oxalic acid you can mix it to a stronger solution or weak solution.

I have no clue. Each market in FL is different. And it fluctuates even more across the country. Keep in mind business operational costs, chemical costs, experience, equipment also plays a part in pricing.

I charge the sidewalks by square footage and the curbs I priced by linear foot. No theres no issue with it. Its all on your preference, If I clean a residential home then id rinse it off though.

Yes it is. I have no clue what the average rate it across the state. Each area and business is different. Also take account on which product youre using and how many sq ft you have to clean. So a range could be .20c to .50c a sq ft give or take.

I keep same tips in there. I don't surface clean new concrete that's a no no. They're supposed to be surface cleaner tips not softwash tips. 5 numbers instead of 4 numbers
