Biggest SCAM in the cold hardy palm industry exposed.

This is seriously the biggest marketing scam ever... The Trachycarpus Fortunei Bulgari... guys, it's nothing more than a regular Trachy, nothing more and nothing less. I am going to dig this thing up come the spring, drown my purchase price away in a can of shiner, and the first person who sends me a message and pays for shipping can own this recovering Trachy... it's YOURS!
Plant Sabals.... that's it, just plant Sabals! Do not buy this well crafted marketing scam.

What zone do you grow your palms? Curious, because I’ve been checking your channel and you had many palms and citrus I think. And it’s cool, just want to get an idea what I can grow too! Looking into the true cold hardiness of plants

I am in DFW, advertised as zone 8a but a cold 8a recently. Things grow well here just need to pick the right palms!!

Overhyped hardiness for sure. Looks like you planted it out in the open. Plant closer to house or building for more protection. What zone are you? Trying regular windmill. Zone 7 South New Jersey. try needle palm small bushy palm but the hardiest takes below zero and cold nights 20 degrees regularly

I am honestly glad this one didn’t make it. I have needles, and two more trachys that have made it throughout the years but I protect nothing and don’t need a good to pick spots to grow things. I’m down in DFW so nothing like your weather.

I agree! I’m in zone 7 in Tennessee and never had any luck with them. I always get spear pull. Biggest scam. I always have luck with sabals more then any other palm. I even have needles that get pretty banged up more so then the sabals

Yes!!!!! ^^^ this. I have two that are big, lives through our ‘21 unprotected and have earned their spots. I have another two others, including this Bulgaria thag will get pulled out and replaced with Sabals..

Doesn’t matter the Bulgaria gimmick is just that, a big gimmick. We are a reasonably solid 8a and I have two trachys with no issues planted about the same size.

@@sabalkingoftexas I live on the edge of zone 7 and 6 and its growing unprotected they Are not hardy at all when there not mature

It might be but in the event it’s nursed back to health. Anyone who wants it, it’s theirs! I have seen palms come back from much worse than this.
