Biggest Trashy Junk Journal I Ever Made

Hi, it's been at least a year since I've shared anything online so I'm a little bit rusty. I've been working on this giant thing for a long time. Please say hello to Fubsy the Garbougie! What does that mean you might be wondering? Garbougie is a type of journal, created by gluing down everyday garbage such as left over magazine images, used stamps, product logos, old receipts - whatever paper trash falls into my hands to create bougie collage pages that look fancy. In other words... I just made it up to represent my junk journals here on youtube. LOL! So let's do a complete flip through of this pleasantly plump book and talk about what I've done in there.

Those journals are beautiful and amazing but this one you've created has some sentimental value for you, and is a little piece of history that you can look back on later and show your kids and grandkids images from what will eventually be "way back when"...

My personal opinion is that the vintage pages are your best pages. I have several of these books so far, everything inside of them means something to me, even if random placed. I enjoy seeing what others are doing, although I probably will never post my own multi-media art. Great job & many blessings for 2021!

I love it!!❤️😍 I do books similar to this on a regular basis with composition 📚 books, journals, etc... Some are themed for Seasons, Holidays, Etc and then they are collaged with no theme. I use whatever I get my hands on trash, paper scraps, wrappers, tags, from clothes, thrift store bundles/ finds, scrapbooking kits, scrapbook paper pads, etc...I absolutely love it, it's relaxing, peaceful, makes me happy, I make them for me.❤️😍☺️♥️💕🤩 Keep having fun!!!

Lol! I am CONSTANTLY chiding my better half for forcing recyclable stuff! We do the standard cardboard,plastic metal.. not glad because our stupid county doesn't recycle it! So we buy little in jars,I will save some for projects. Anyway,I'm SURE Hubby thinks I'm Bonkers for snatching paper and some food containers to make tags and such! I LOVE IT! I hand cut circles for tags from cracker, cereal,and other chipboard/ lite cardboard,tags,some packaging,labels...always looking for other resources! Too bad the real pretty stuff do expensive, like vintage ephemera and such. I make my own which is fun and a bit challenging at times. I don't have a printer, plus the ones are far too pricey! Happy Crafting Girls!!!🤗😃

This journal is hilarious! It actually triggered a lot of memories....like “Quisp” cereal....that and “Freakies” were my fav cereals when I was a kid (probably more for the prize inside than the actual cereal lol). This journal reminds me of the books my brother and I used to put together using collectible stickers called “Wacky Packages”....they were spoof stickers making brand names into spooky or gross things.....for example “Crest” toothpaste was changed to “Crust” and the pictures were hilarious! Don’t know what I did with those....wish I still had them. Anyway I save every little thing too, but have not put anything together in a long time. Inspiring for sure! I actually really like this. I was wondering what you used for a base, composition book huh? I have some of those. Do you use glue or Mod Podge or what? I love how you alternate from color to black and white spreads. I've been confused with all the different kinds of planners and journals and junk journals and bullet and all. 2020 was first year I tried to get into planner after not doing it a long time. Kind of a bad year to start but I learned some things. I started cutting out bits of packaging like from a frozen dinner and stuck that in there to show what I ate for dinner. I really wanted to do a page of all my favorite candies and seeing yours reminded me of that. This year I got a dot grid plain one without any pre-printed pages. So I'll have more freedom. I've saved tea tags, and even instant oatmeal packets because I look at it and realize it'd make a good "pocket". I don't think a functional planner and the kind of art you showed can be in the same book though. LOL

It's just a composition book from Dollar Tree. I use lots of glue sticks, tacky glue, and regular elmer's bottles. I don't use modpodge often because it makes things wrinkle too much. Thanks for watching!!! 😊
