Oregon WR Dillon Mitchell
Junior 6’1 197 lbs
Oregon WR Dillon Mitchell was arguably the best wide receiver in the Pac-12 last season. He draws a lot of Odell Beckham Jr. comparisons because of their similar physiques & the No. 13 jersey they both wear. While he may not be on the same level as OBJ when it comes to route running, Mitchell isn’t bad by any means. He’s a lot closer to how Odell was coming out of college. The reason why the OBJ comps may not come to fruition is that a lot of people question Mitchell’s hands because he has a tendency to drop some easy passes while Odell is known to have exceptional hands. People shouldn’t expect Odell 2.0 because that will only give Mitchell unfair expectations he shouldn’t have on him.

This is how draft gems are found, when you don’t have the need urgency. As Viking we bomb on “need” wrs. Started with Troy Williamson, then Patterson, and most recently Treadwell. All 1st round and were real needs. All bombed badly. Look at Diggs..5th round, Theilen ..undrafted. Now in 7th we snagged 2 WRs and I guarantee either this dude or Johnson from Colo State will shine and be the 3rd wr

dillon has supreme confidence and ability, he was a huge playmaker for our team from his first spring game. Love the fit for him with the Vikings, hope he can show off his talent this year as diggs and thieland will garner much of the defensive attention.

Never watched him in college but as a Vikings fan I’m glad we got him. Looks to have excellent body and hand control, and great form and route running. Unlike most wr highlights where they are wide open this guy grabs it with coverage right in his face and makes guys miss.
