Thank you dear Jesus, for seeing to it that I was born. Thank you for seeing to it that I was not only born but I was Born during the days when country & and western music reigned supreme. I’m an elderly man now and I’m getting older by the day so fast. So many people, so many places & faces have come and gone. And they came and went so fast , Like a twinkling star on the tip, of a missile, as it screams across the The dying light of the western skies. Thank you dear God for seeing to it that I was born between 1946 and 1964.

Thank you Kris for serving and all your beautiful songs and music. I refer to you as "My buddy Kris" when I talk about you to my family you are the best. Thanks for showing me to love and learn to play guitar and sing for my grandson. I'd watch you play some chords which made it easier to learn. I also want to thank you for teaching me to love my wife, sons, grandbabies and family more than life itself. I dedicate this song to my wife. I tell my wife whom I have been with since 1984 and married on 2/14/1990, "Thank you for a wonderful life", which is a life that I'd call happy. I love her unconditionally and sometimes it seems like I'm running on rock and roll time and I keep loving and hanging on to her. I'll hang on to her as long as I can and as long as she loves me enough to stay in my corner and by my side. "I do love you babes". I try to learn from your beautiful songs so in my own way "I'm a believer" that we will be together until death do us part. The thought of me leaving her never ever crossed my mind I love her for better or for worse until death do us part. Your songs help reenforce my love for her. (I love you babes, till death do us part). I have a grandson who turned 3 April 12th 2021 who I'd put to sleep when he was only months old with the help of all your beautiful music and songs I found on KZbin. He also learned to love the guitar because of you. I have a video when he was a few months old that when I moved the guitar away from him he cried pretty bad and once I brought it close to him he stopped crying right away. That just blew my mind. As he got older he chose which songs he wanted to hear which most were yours. Him and I got to see you in Denver I believe at the Paramount theater before Covid started thanks to my son Raul and daughter in law Tammy. My Son , daughter in law, wife and grandson Zach went along for the road trip and they all found stuff to do near by while my grandbaby and I watched you on stage. So my grandson Antonio was your youngest fan there at just a little over a year old. We tried to get pictures with you but that didn't work out as we wished it would have. We got some with the band and some souvenirs. I'm Amazed by your life story and journey Sir. Thank you Buddy for your beautiful songs music and for serving. Much respect and love for My buddy Kris Kristofferson. You can call me Bones. Stay and be safe buddy. Love you buddy.

❤❤ ❤ MY ODE TO KRIS … I’d rather hear this old frog croak out his songs with soul, than to hear from some perfectionist play empty rock n roll! And I’d rather hear forgotten words from his aching, breaking heart, than to hear some latest tune that somehow made the charts. 🎶 Yes, Kristofferson’s my hero, through his crazy ups and downs. He has set the hallmark, has the right to wear the crown. Yes, Kristofferson’s my hero, through years and many miles. Whenever I hear his music, it always brings a smile. 🎶 Then in the twilight on the stage, more faded than his jeans, words fell like gilded treasures, more valued than they seem. But I’d rather this old frog croak out out his songs with soul, than to hear from some perfectionist play empty rock n roll … …

Never heard this before, beautiful song from an underrated song writer.
I sincerely doubt that anyone who knows anything about songwriting would underrate Kris. Doing that would only expose their lack of knowledge. I am an amateur singer/songwriter. I'm below average as a songwriter. Kris makes legends like Lennon/McCartney, John Fogerty, Bob Dylan, and Woody Guthrie seem rather simple, and yet they are everything but that.
@RedHairFire Жыл бұрын
Only underrated by you maybe. You have no idea how many of his songs have been covered by every kind of singer.
@leiferikbagge9851 Жыл бұрын
@@RedHairFire I'm afraid you have misunderstood me. I'm the last person on this planet to underestimate Kris Kristofferson, Lennon/McCartney and John Fogerty! I am very well aware of the vast amount of artists that have sung Kris' songs. When I'm on stage, I mostly sing Kristofferson's songs. As a lyric writer Kris i is in his own league.

Discovered Kris and his music late, into my sixties I think but he became my favourite singer and I only heard “Thank you for a life” for the first time on the Tuesday before he went home. I didn’t even know he’d gone but I played it in church Sunday morning before the sermon because it touched me so much I wanted everyone to hear it. Monday morning I heard the sad news. But it’s not so sad. I know I’ll get to meet him where he is now.
