Have you taken a 23andme AND an ancestry.com dna test? If so, how did your results compare?
@KatLuv714 жыл бұрын
I haven't done the 23andme yet, but hoping to soon. 😊

In the big picture the were quite similar (I like them both for different reasons),. The ONLY thing I truly wished AncestryDNA had an advanced DNA Relative comparison and the chromosome viewer/painter, they have a bigger data base (a.f.a.i.k.), I mean even MyHeritage has a "kind-of" chromosome viewer and advance DNA relative comparison...

My 23 and me Ancestry results are cool. But then people are saying it's Just a estimate and that Just ruins it

That makes sense, because around a time when your Dad was Adopted, People will not give information in Paper 📝 about the Kid or their Families at all, my Friend, and they did this from the 1770s to the 1970s, my Friend.

Thank you RayRay for sharing. You are so right we do need some kindness in this crazy world. Your words of kindness and positivity are wonderful to hear. Take care.

We are in dire need of positivity and kindness. With so many things to divide us, there is still hope if we show folks there is still love in this world.

Hi RayRay, The DNA database size for Ancestry is 16 million, and for 23andMe is 10 million. With such a big difference in database size Ancestry will be more accurate. However, 23andMe are growing so who know's if that'll be the case in a few years.

I did Ancestry.com and have thought about doing 23 and me. I did the traits analysis and was very surprised by it. You should check that out also.

Oh ya! It's all very interesting to me. So much available to learn once you've done a test!

Pretty cool buddy. From what I've been told, we have a lot of the same heritage. Some day I'll do a DNA test. Beard is looking great.👍🏼

I have heard of genetic dieting. I know part of my ancestry, but can't afford to do DNA testing. Great video, Ray! #BeBiggest

Your Height makes sense to, because I heard that German and Dutch People, can be very very very very very very very Tall for real, my Friend.

Keep in mind Italians don't score 100% Italian either. On 23andme for example northern Italians can score major percentages of French & German and Southern Italians can score alot of West Asian & North African. 23andme is alot more accurate for people that are from mixed populations than Ancestry is. Looking at your results i'm fairly certain you have ancestry from Italy, Mainland Northwestern Europe (French, Germany), The British Isles and the Balkans. A mix of those populations

I am sure DNA tests like that are very interesting. But be aware that you are willingly giving your DNA to private companies who will probably further use and sell those informations. I would not be comfortable to do that but maybe that’s just me.

I understand the risks. I look at it this way, with my day job, I've had federal government clearances with 4 agencies, this was during the time people's information was said to have been hacked for a foreign actor. Wifey and I both received letters in the mail saying our information had been compromised. I've been fully investigated by the FBI and vetted. My information is out there and then some, I may as well enjoy the technology and science. But, I do agree, it's wise to be cautious!

I agree with you. I can also see why those tests have a great appeal in the US. Everybody had a background from various regions of the world. Over here in Europe the results for most people would be a little boring. I don’t think I would have any exotic ancestry 😅
@mynameisjayne47554 жыл бұрын
sphhyn it is no different than when you go to the dentist, have blood drawn for labs or give blood. If you were born in the hospital or if you have ever had surgery they have access to your spit, blood and even organ tissues. They can do a lot more with blood and organs than spit.

You know that "eastern europe and russia" isn't only "russia". Your eastern european is 99%from poland, or czechia, or both. Since you are mostly german. So no, you most likely don't have any russian ancestry
@fralinsandfriends4 жыл бұрын
Germanic Europe could include some Western Russia.
