@@bernabefernandeztouceda7315 i respectfully disagree. That album was a signpost that the golden era of hip hop was over. Puffy made them walk for cheesecake because Andre Harrell had done the same to him in the early 90s. It's something that Puff's ego and stature within the industry just couldn't reconcile so he seemingly projects/projected his own embarrassment onto the up and coming artists who are/were just trying to get a hand up. Those kids should have told Puff to stuff his cheesecake and walked out off the show and then we'd have seen how quickly the TV execs would have begged them to come back!

Remember that old XXL magazine cover story, "The making of Life After Death".....even Big's right-hand man Lil Cease was in that issue literally saying Big hated when Puff was around cause it changed the whole mood. Cease even said he had a verse on Playa Hata, but Puff deleted it and put himself on the song instead.

Naw Kim blew up (different market/SEXtion of target audience) and MA$E threw the label on his back for 2 years. Shyne was on his way. Loon, Dep and Rob were Stunted. The LOX eventually got out after being held hostage for years and some of the buzz wore off but this is been their story for their entire career sadly us fans missed out on even more music because of Puff's greed and manipulation (they call it "business") Cam, Cease and JM and anyone with UNtertainment was being Stunted but moreso behind the scenes MA$E couldn't do the Pretending anymore and had to just walk away but you can tell his heart wasn't in it while recording his second album he was done after Harlem World but yeah you're right for the most part

"Lying" is a strong word. Most rap labels pushed the image that ceos and rosters were more tight knit than they actually were. Ruff Ryders told us they were "ryde or die". Death Row said they were a "family". Weezy and Bird told us they were "father and son". And this was far from true for all these examples, lol. Its just what rap labels were sold on, the idea of cohesion and camaraderie. This guy is reading too much into it.
