Such smooth, effortless and genuinely funny storytelling. No taboos, but no tackiness; a perfect mix of raw, "nasty" humour and sophisticated, smart and fun commentary. Big Jay is such a natural! He's like a big bowl of mashed potatoes: simple, velvety, in-your-face goodness. He doesn't need to resort to any cheap gimmick or shtick to make people listen and burst out laughing. As a French Canadian who does appreciate all the great comics we have back home, I do wish you could visit someday and bring some of that unadulterated, eloquently deadpan comedy to Québec City, or at least Montreal someday. I remember when I was a kid there was this comedian (now I know it's Big Jay) who used to be on those 30 minute comedy central "specials" during the day on weekends. I would always crack up when I would see him do the joke about a baby and a shawl. I would be in tears. It wasn't till I was in college about 10 years later that a friend pointed me over to LOS out of the blue and then I realized it was him! Cool memories.

About 2 years ago, I was going through a really rough time in my life, and found myself slowly spiraling out of control. A close friend of mine always tried cheering me up by telling me to listen to the bonfire, he would tell me almost everyday. I always pushed it off because I always though podcasts were pointless and a waste of time. Long story short, the bonfire is the only podcast I listen to.
