Got these both in the summer of 2022. Actually found them curbside on trash days and took home cleaned and purged them to use. They were stored away in shed, but thanks to your video; they will be coming out of storage this month. Now that the weather has gotten a little cooler.

I rarely recommend wet brine whenever cooking turkey by any method. I’m an injection guy. Brining may provide a slight benefit to taste and texture, but the small gain is not worth the extra time and expense of a brine. Just my opinion.

I own both. Bought SRG on Amazon, and OTG at Home Depot. I keep them in a large yard leaf bags in the garage. Both are propane. They do great on turkeys and i clean them after each use.

I have 4 OTF's, the oldest is 3 yrs old, they have been out in the elements quite a bit and have held up real well. The 3 that are up in Canada are almost perfect, the one in Mexico I had to paint the lid with bbq paint because it rusted up pretty bad. Other than that all good. I love these things!

If you clean the lid with steel wool and wipe it down with oil and put it in the oven at 500 degrees for 2hours, it’ll be like new. No more rust worries. Same with the basket.

Love my SRG. Does pork, chicken, beef and bird real good. The SRG does everything well except like you say its not best at grilling. I made a rig to do duck and did Peking duck in it. Fantastic device. Best bone in prime rib ever, best turkey, best pork butt and fastest drumsticks done right. The smokers is fine, not the greatest but in general its an all in one cooker.

Sorry about your wife bud , pain like no one can imagine , dont know how Im still vertical , 6 year pain and torment 24/7 not let up , I cry a river everyday still. , makes it easier to die , us guys have to die twice , and endure the pain
