@@benextinction__144 they can beat BUT they are not so long in the game.. big heavy guys are better suited for the sport and smaller ones pack too much power for a ''small'' frame so they get injured quicker, for example Shaw is jn the game half of his life and won 4 times while Eddie could not do that without getting injured much more

I'm pretty sure stumpy cheated in the Africa stone carry. Because his arms were so short he held a loop between his hands to stop them from pulling apart. I didn't think anything of it until the end of the event when he was very carefully sliding it into his pocket trying not to get noticed. To this day a don't know if it was something he got away with or he was trying to hide it from the cameras because he was a little embarrassed.

@@micahvelez5032 My brother and I train strongman, with guys ranging from his height to 6'6. He's 5'5 and I'm 5'7, so there are definitely shorter guys out there. You have your advantages and disadvantages. Deadlift/squat/pressing events are my strong suit, but loading/stones are harder just because you have to lift it up higher comparatively. Having bigger hands would help too, but when figure 8 straps are allowed, it's not too much of a disadvantage. Regardless of your height, if you want to try training/competing in the sport, just go for it. I've never met a better group of guys who look like they could snap you in two, but would rather help lift you up.

Of all of the staple events in WSM and strongman comps it seems that the stones would be the worst ones if you are short, the rest of the events either have adjustments for height, or just dont matter at all in teh cases of teh deadlift, squat, OHP etc, so i guess if you are strong enough to win enough events before the stones, it wouldnt matter if you are 6'9 or 5'1.

I’m 6’2 and I try not to think about it as you can’t change your height. I’ve just always aimed to be the best I can be. No point worrying about things you can’t change. Just work your ass off and be the best you can be

@@BigLozOfficial Big Z is arguably the greatest at 6'3, Eddie is 6'2, Kaz is 6'2, Martins is 6'2, Mariusz is 6'1, i'd say it's a pretty ideal range

@@meginna8354 I just think it's very rare to be taller than that while also having great genetics in all other areas. A modern day Angus MacAskill would easily dominate the sport given propper training and supplementation.

@@Tebbe1997 Brian and Thor are the only dominant really tall guys that come to mind. you only believe in Angus MacAskill because you saw a youtube video, made in Windows Movie Maker, by some random dude, with random pictures and a text of the things he could allegedly do. Some local folklore legend, there are Icelandic historical strongmen who did much crazier things "allegedly".

@@meginna8354 I haven't seen any damn youtube video about him, I've read about him, sure his feats of strenght most likely are exaggerated and I didn't claim otherwise but the truth of the matter is he's a giant dude who got famous for his immense feats of strenght without any specific training. You do realise Brian and Hafthor are responsible for half of the WSM wins this past decade right? Something like 0.01% of people are Brian height or taller.

He only qualified once but made the final. I loved his attitude, what a guy... that said I am sorry to say but I did find him trying to reach the first stone platform rather funny. It was his only real achilles heel so being so short but so strong.

Looking at Lalas and Lalas, how about a World's Strongest Brothers? Apart from the obvious Lalases and Stoltmen, the Hadge brothers are also well known. I think Magnus Samuelsson has a brother who once competed in the group stages in WSM, but don't quote me on it.

Being 5’6 at about to be 17 and my final height prolly not going above what I am now but always looked up to eddie hall and Brian Shaw even looked up to bane in mf comics and always wanted to be built like those huge muscular dudes. But sadly I was given the short hand on height. I am decently built tho and am pretty strong but strongmen was always my dream. Sucks having people look down on me(literally) and being underestimated but I believe in myself.

Other than weight that comes with the higher amount of muscles (and in the case of strongman, fat), there is no advantage when being tall in strength sports. Actually lots of disadvantages.
