Advice for the Breese chickens. As soon as you can tell roosters to hens then I would separate them. I have found that they don't do well in a confined space and will kill each other.Once the hens are laying age then you can put the correct number of roosters to hens together.

We found that to be different from our flock. We keep our flock in 2 poultry netting from Gallagher and rotate them each week. Our flock together and at 14 weeks we combine the keepers and separate the freezer camp candidates. But I understand each flock is different

@@TheNakidGardeners I have raised more breeds of birds than I can count and I am a year into this breed and I have never seen anything like it. Since culling all but two roosters, which I have separate, it has calmed down.

Mike they make a hitch you can connect to the tractor comes with a ball also if needed only like 40 dollars look up lawn garden hitch attachment. I have one I use it to move my chicken tractor.

Sadly Hazel died last year. She had gotten very skinny after having the triplets and no matter what we did she just wouldn't put weight back on. It was hard to say goodbye to her. ~ Lacie

I have the same incubator they’re awesome but do to my last hatch it was a very poor hatch so I’ve tryed again after see a lot of good results in dry incubating and adding water for lockdown like normal so far my eggs are doing very well I started with 30 ducks egg and 4 we’re unfettered and I got left with 26 and all doing very well and I have 10 days left but I’m feeling hopeful this time with dry incubating instead of the normal way! You should definitely look into it!

I was wondering if you harvest lambs quarter in the spring down there. I lived in Texas and Louisiana growing up and if not for lambs quarter we wouldn't have had much to eat that was green thru the winter in rural 1960-70s. A lot of work to can it but compared to other greens a bushel will get you a full canner of qts. It was are favorite green and it can be domesticated though some states might frown on it. It turns more purplish as the years go of harvesting your own seeds for the next season. I live in far NW Washington and same plant is pathetic skippy plant not much worth the looking for. But I'll eat any I see raw. But in your area it should be very tasty.

Wendyfrench9I’ve done the feet method. Gently grab them by their neck as chicks. If they flatter the legs they are probably roosters. If they tuck their legs they are usually hens
