She owns the place, total stage presence, she does not even seem the least bit surprised. It is kind of like this whole thing was meant to be, and music was just waiting for her. She is going to own music pretty soon, you can see it now. I like how she always kicks the band members around some.. she doesnt take any funny business, she will just tell you whats up. She always gives Bobby some grief.

Amazing. I think I've watched just this video many times. This young lady is absolutely amazing. I'm catching up on her performances which seem to go back to when she was 7 or 8? I read here and there people say she can capture an audience like no one they've ever seen. The size of the audience doesn't matter. I think it would be easy to underestimate Emi because she looks like any 10 year old girl. A very pretty 10 year old girl, certainly, but you can tell she's very small. Yet, here and there she says something that drives home just how wise beyond her years she is. Have you noticed she changes things a little here and there from one performance to another? I know most performers do that but Emi seems gifted at that. It makes a show always fresh. She's a natural born performer along with all her other incredible talents. I hope someone will be able to record as many of her performances as possible. For history. Because, ladies and gentlement, we are seeing a special kind of history being made right before our eyes and ears. Color me "blown away".

***** Very well said!! If you see their recent shows they have gotten even better. The addition of Robbie Helton on guitar has really added spice into the performances, and all have gotten better. Just look at the recent video at the Harrah's in San Diego....She opens for Willie Nelson again tonight at the Cosmopolitan Casino in Vegas. I will be recording a show on Aug 1 in Greeneville, TN Stay tuned.

bigredd110 I have noticed they've all gotten better with time, especially Emi. She was great a year ago but now her voice has matured a bit and she's starting to blow the roof off. A real showman (I hesitate to use "showgirl" because that term has some unsavory history to it). Country music (and all the other genres she sings) is in good hands. What incredible vocal control she has, too. I've never seen anyone, young or old, show such energy at the mic -- she pure snaps sometimes.

Sometimes the stage makeup makes her appear older, but in person Emi's very tiny and young looking. I've never seen anyone at any age with better stage presence. Whether there's 40 or 4000 people, Emi captures the hearts of the crowd, along with the Venue Hosts, Owners and other Artists. She carries a little stuffed turtle (Stanley) everywhere and always has it on stage. On this show Stanley was riding in her brother John's back pocket. You can see her grab Stanley when exiting the stage.

I have to agree with this. I remember the 1st time I saw her in person, it was like, oh, she is a little girl! Watching her videos, she comes across almost as an adult, but she is a small girl, but one with a huge stage presence.

I was reading the other comments just now and some of them actually made me cry, because the comments are so deserving of her, and I rejoice when people are smart enough to recognize her appeal. When that happens, somethin' just went right in this old world. The rare and lonely soul who finds somethin' to pick on Emi for makes my blood run cold. The last song "Blue Yodel 6" was an add-on by Marty Stuart, and the Opry Musicians were not prepared for it. You can see Bobby giving instructions to the fiddle player when Emi was ready to play. You would never know it was done on the fly, and the fiddle player did a magnificent job.

It' called Black Sunday 35, which is the title track from her newest album. Your can purchase it from ITunes on Emi's new website (theemisunshine.com). Emi wrote Black Sunday 35 after learning about the Dust Bowl in the 1930s from a history lesson.
