Dang, I can really feel the wipEout Fusion influence in this track. The wide banked corners, the Mandrashee corkscrew, the rain in the forest like Alca Vexus, the jump onto the starting grid from Cubiss Float... Even the route barriers look like those blue static barriers from Fusion!

Course 2 is giving me serious Florian Heights Course 2 vibes with that straight vertical drop into the tight corners in the final section

plus that first song sounds just like Papua New Guinea Hybrid Mix, the very first track in the Wipeout Fusion soundtrack. cool stuff all around!

Guys, those who are responsible for this project in a fit of emotion, I want to share my feelings about your project. Not so long ago, in a fit of nostalgia, and out of anger at the modern gaming industry, I turned to the library of my favorite childhood console - PS2. Looking for games that I had overlooked in my childhood, I stumbled upon the wipeout franchise and it was love at first sight. I usually play on my portable retro console, and I have been looking for something similar for a long time, but for playing on a PC, at home. that's how I found out about your game, literally 15 minutes ago, and oh gods, I'm already sitting and just throwing money at my monitor to buy a game on steam. Thank you for what you do and for being you.

I love how even just taking place in a different time of day can make forward/reverse versions of a track feel more unique

So glad this game is experimenting with courses, like WipEout Fusion. It's not an agreed upon thing where everyone is happy with it, but regardless I am. Also, nice job at hiding Fusion sound effects in this video. Love it.

Man, it's like you took all the best stuff from Fusion and mixed it into a single track complex and with gorgeous visuals too.

I love the long gentle curves that let me really feel the speed. The pit lane looks like its not so brutal to get into at-speed as other tracks too. Nice work!

Really like the use of WipEout Fusion's whole one venue, 3 routes deal going on here. Do you guys plan on trying this format out on future vanilla courses, or will this be a floorhugger-exclusive thing?

Honestly, after having played them I'd say PC3 could do with a few more signs. Mainly a turn indicator after the post-corkscrew drop (since that turn requires pre-steering on at least 3 ships I've tried) and one of those holographic path blocker things where the track joins up with PC1's track for clarity purposes. The first really hard left into the helix is a little nuts too, the turn indicator there should probably be higher so you can see it before it's too late to even start maneuvering. All 3 very fun tracks, but PC3 in particular feels like something you cannot drive "reactively" (as in using visuals as indicators for inputs) on and need to re-learn the timings for with every ship (especially jarring going from Tenrai to Nexus for example). It's a very binary experience if you're trying to get perfect laps because of that, you either know how to handle those track features and get them perfectly 100% of the time or you don't and you hit a wall. Other tracks in the game tend to have more wiggle room, where you can tackle the features imperfectly but still not hit wall, so this one sort of stands out as being more demanding than most. If that was the point, my bad I guess. That being said, I really like the concept for this sort of track, a giant complex where different routes constitute different tracks entirely. Not sure if it's quicker to pump out multiple tracks of this variety, but if it is, I'd say keep doing it. Can't wait for the NX Edition and more DLC, this is absolutely my favorite racing game of all time.

Now, where is Temtesh Bay? We all need that one mf'er of a map in the Fusion era

Damn, this is so good, if i had paid a hundred bucks for this game it would be ok.(von snake you can so easily put, pacer, redout , grip and games of that caliber to shame if you wanted to...you dont wanna be a millionaire?, gamedevs tryed for decades to emulate wipeout gameplay, only you could), i feel like you dont care but...you even did more, mixing the f1 feel and competition of hd with the gameplay of old, now this track is just like you added fusion. i just cannot wait to play it.

With this watered down layout and mechanics BNG is more like Wipeout fusion than beloved Wipeout XL & 3. In the current state I cannot recommend it to those looking for classic WO experience.
@MBeekes Жыл бұрын
These physics are only the default for Pines Complex and Europa. The default physics for the rest of the tracks are very much like WO3.
