Always a great experience, have been watching 'Dekho Suno Jano' Big Socho and FSW Blogs. It is indeed a fact that Sikandar cane down to Punjab and fought a war with Raja Porus the great, but the fact remains regardless whatever the western historians narrate is that Sikandar LOST that battle and he had to flee back to where he came from. One needs to understand and realize the timelines, the behavior of war lords and how one side treats the other after the war, so having said this history has been passed down to us through western and greek historians, who did a face saving for alexander "The Great"? Raja Porus was victorious and he ruled over his lands for years to come.

During battle with Porus, Alexander was hit by an arrow which later became the reason of death of Alexander. There is no conclusive evidence of win/loss but Porus devastated Alexander's army so much that it had no option but retreat. Hollywood movie on Alexander was quite impartial and true. Porus died in old age by poison possibly given by his son/general. Later it merged under Mauryan Empire. After death of Alexander, Persia came under control of one of his general Selucus which established marital and friendly ties with Mauryas.
