Seeing that Steiger Tiger III brings back some memories since all the Steigers were built in my town, I have almost 100 hrs in a Steiger Bearcat II doing fall deep disking that made that tractor really get down and grunt if I remember correctly the disk I was pulling weighed around 25,000 pounds just by itself, it was a lot of fun till you got a little to close to the swamp and buried the disk then we had a 903 Versatile to assist in pulling the whole mess out of the hole you dug it into!

Sharp Shooter Probably a 12v92. 8v92s can handle about 650 hp reliably.
@Romans--bo7br3 жыл бұрын
@@beckywatt5048.... Nice guess, Becky... but no. The Rite ("Eathquake") is powered by a 12-71TA, and 8-92's in High Performance Marine trim can make over 1K. I've seen Marine 8-92TiB's from the factory, rated to 820 hp. The factory designed the block and lower end to reliably handle 1250hp, though I've seen a few High Performance 8-92TiB's and TA's on the dyno producing nearly 1500 hp at 3,000 rpm. Two of the most widely sold Marine 6-71TiB's from J&T was their 465 & 485 hp versions.... and Very reliable. DD had a "test" 6-71TA-X on the dyno back in 1971 that ran non-stop / 24/7 for two weeks at 2,550 rpm under full load and was developing a steady 756 / 758 hp.... tear-down after the test revealed NO measurable wear. The 12-71 that I set up and tuned, years back for the "Lady Butterfly" sled puller (NTPA SuperPro Semis), was developing (depending on weather, air density, track elevation, etc.) 2,350 - 2,500+ hp and a little over 3,000 lbs ft of torque..... and NEVER "blew it up" in over 11,000 "hooks" during its years of sled pulling.... and that, was After it was retired from Over the Road trucking since it was new in 1974 (KW 900L)... with 1.6M miles "on the clock". When on the sleds, we ran it at 4,000 to 4,200 rpm.... but there are a Lot of "tricks" to building a 2 cycle Detroit to those levels.... and keeping it Reliable. The Only (engine) issue we ever had was, it spun the no.6 main bearing during a pull, back in 1996... but had it back up an running a few days later, and never had another issue with the engine again, until the "Butterfly" was sold in 2013, due to the owners declining health.
