The truck demand problem has been happening in the used market as well for A WHILE now. When we decided to get our 5W I had to go get a good enough truck to pull it. Missed out on a few that were on used dealer lots before finding one that had the right capacities. You have to take what you can get when the things are selling out from under you before you, and it's good to know that ordering a truck doesn't mean there's a set time frame for when you'll get it, or that it won't be sold to someone else out of sales expediency. Trucks sell so fast that it's a free-for-all.

Remove the extending running boards and replace them w/ DeeZee full length diamond plate running boards. The DZ boards will protect the whole underside below doors and won't have to worry about therm not working. Just my $.02.

Congrats on the new truck. Amazing you can find one on the lot but cant order one. Last June when i bought my Denali since my 450 was never coming i was able to find a few 350 Lariats but that was it for Fords and the dealers were marking them up like 40 grand.

Enjoy your new truck, Ford isn't my brand, but glad you were able to find something you're happy with. We need to start shaming dealers who put those god awful dealership brand emblems on the tailgate. That is the second most egregious thing they do after second sticker/dealer markups. Not really a big fan of the dealer branded mudflaps they put on, but at least they are still a functional product. The only thing that tailgate emblem can possibly do is screw up the paint.

You're going to love the tailgate down cameras and onboard scales. The star white is really nice, but I prefer the Rapid Red.

Your bed cleat tie downs from your old system won’t work in the new ford system. You have to change out the entire bracket. I just changed out the bracket to ones that would accept E track tie down anchors. I went from a Ruby red 2017 srw 350 to a 2024 drw red 350 limited. Even though they are the same exterior color the interior is markedly different so I don’t feel like they are the same truck. Was looking at the 450s but they are derated so much that many of the larger toy haulers can’t be towed by them legally. I have 500lbs more payload capacity than your truck. I went through the thing as you searching for a new truck but I happen across this one and saved $5k off Msrp. I didn’t want a black interior and my first choose was a Carmelo interior platinum. The black interior is just so dated imo. I got my limited for less than you paid for your platinum so I am happy with the deal I got. I had 200k on my 17 so it was time unfortunately for a new truck

For the price of king ranch and lariats it’s hilarious they would short the customer like that… but these dealerships are just crazy with what trucks cost nowadays. The white looks nice JD, but man I just can’t give these dealerships the type of money they’re asking for… wow 140k? I remember when lariats were mid 50s… anyways. Except for the fact that you kind of prefer to stay incognito, I see that white as a nice blank canvas for some tasteful graphics down the side, about 1/3 way up front the bottom between the front and rear wheels, with some striping and BTBRC logo. Congrats on the new rig.

Sorry to hear delays on Truck, it may be close. Congrats on the ‘24 Platinum! Ordered my F450 Limited early Sept 2023… I was close to thinking would never show and it appeared mid-May. Ordered from smaller (in comparison) Dealership in MidWest… Wife calls it our new Baby, took 9 months, 1 week. Ordered a fully optioned F450, was told to drop several items to improve chance of build… it arrived with all options: deployable side steps, bed spray liner, etc. Have you received email indicating you have a build schedule! You ordered after me, you may be getting close. Mine went from no news to Build Schedule and delivery in 4 weeks.

Congrats. I myself have checked on the timeline for delivery of a platinum F450. I myself would have kept the actual Alcoa wheels as I plan on purchasing a set soon. The original wheels would go back on when I upgrade. I along with others are eager to hear your thoughts on the new engine, exhaust braking and features. Keep up the great content.

I bought an almost identical F-350. Star white HO 6.7L. One of the best things I've added is the banks dual iDash setup. The pods look almost stock on the Platinum with the black headliner. I also put in the Hill diesel high idle knob, and a Raptor R steering wheel.

I actually stumbled across your channel when you still had the 2015 White over Gold F-350 and watched you buy the Red one. Sorry to see it go, wish I had the 69 plus grand they are asking for it. That F-450 would have been an excellent truck for a quality slide in camper from either Lance or Northwood Artic Fox.

Both those trucks are very nice! I'm more a Chevy guy but those are pretty awesome and have all the stuff my Silverado has for the luxury stuff. You talked about the wait for a new, custom truck wait. Back in Sept 22 I was ready to order my new Silverado, DRW, Long, CREW, DIESEL,and LTZ or High Country (Only difference is the two tone interior). On my way to the dealership expecting to write the $94,000 check and get the order made with the 24 month waiting period I drove by the local Ford Dealership. As I drove by I noticed a White Silverado with DRW, Long, Crew so I stopped to take a look. 2020 Silverado with the mentioned above. LTZ but the kicker..... 7,000 original miles! A brand new 2 year old truck with all I was going to pay $12,000 more for. Only difference is white, not light brown metallic. Fully loaded. Not two tone interior but Duramax and all mentioned above!

Beautiful new truck JD! Congratulations! Personally I can't stand stickers/decals like the 4x4 on your truck. I think they look cheap.I made the dealer remove them from my truck but that is a personal decision so it's entirely up to you. I loved the winch bumper and winch on your last truck although I would have left off the wrap around front end bars. On board air is a great idea too! You're going to have so much fun customizing! Looking forward to seeing all of it!

I like that new F-450 Platinum. I noticed there wasn’t a sunroof but that’s cool nonetheless. That High Output 6.7 Powerstroke diesel is fast from what I’ve heard and will be good for towing.

I will be interested to know how the new one does. Ford seems to be struggling with quality issues. The amount of recalls are insane. I have a 2016 F250 SD that I will need to upgrade, but I am a little leery.

Amazing how we get attached to inanimate objects my 2008 GMC 3500 dually get written off in an accident bought a 2024 GMC 3500 dually diesel. Beautiful truck. But miss my old one. Need a dually to carry my truck camper. Your new one looks great I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.

Beautiful truck until you get about 1000 miles on it and the AC goes out. Seems to be a large number of trucks experiencing AC issues with compressors going out. On national backorder. Keep us posted if you experience that. AC will work good for about 10 minutes then start blowing hot. It's intermittent. Get in all the videos you can before it sits at the shop for a month or longer waiting on an AC compressor. Good luck!

Good idea to change your oil in the first 1,000 miles to make sure you get out any debris left over. Many engine guys say it’s most important oil change of the trucks life. I went with Schaffers Diesel oil. Absolutely Love Mine! 6.7HO!

We picked up our 2024 F350 Platinum dually HO in antimatter blue last Friday. We ordered it in November of 2023. We got the deployable side and rear corner steps, and the max recline seats.

Totally get the attachment to the old truck. I have replaced my 2017 350 dually and having hard time letting it go. Didn’t trade. It is ruby red like yours, 46100 miles, perfect shape lariat and eventually will sell myself but such an excellent truck, I’m still holding on lol. New one is 2024 350 dually lariat, nice truck.
