My dad built a trai.er just like this back in the mid 60's and it slept our family of five just fine. He pulled it with a 1960 Pontiac station wagon. It was way better than a tent🙂

Pretty sweet! We’ve had a pop up for 10 years. We live the open feel with all the windows. Most campers just don’t have enough large windows, leaving you feeling stuck in a tin can. This model seems to have plenty of windows. Looks very open.

If I didn't have 2 pups and if we were moving a lot I would totally be interested in this. I know cost is always a factor but a unit like this is perfect for lots of moving so the one thing I would like is special attention to the suspension. I actually really like it IMO.

That's awesome!!! My dad has a 27 year old travel trailer that's aluminum roof, siding and frame and it's held up remarkably well! It's easily been towed well over 100k miles and I wouldn't hesitate to take it across the country tomorrow. I'm glad to see a manufacturer doing this!

My family had a Fan trailer when I was a child- about 65+ years ago. Dad pulled it with a Rambler. Same concept- trailer with a cabover.

Great for couples who want to be tight and cozy, perfect for solo camper and even full time solo camper. Gotta be nimble to access the overhang bunk. Absolutely cool for sure. For me it would be perfect setup.

Absolutely love it. Favorite part is there are NO slide outs to maintain or worry about them leaking. I lived in a 5th wheel for 5 1/2 long years, saving up $$ to buy a house and property. I would definitely buy this if I had a truck.

I love it too. I always liked the floor plans of truck campers. This is very similar. I like the idea of the bed being up high and out of the way in a compact trailer with a full dry bath. Plus side is that it's all aluminum frame.

Back when I was a kid, we had an old 1950s-era camper that had an overhang like that. It had a small staircase to get up to the two bunks that were up there.

Both Casita and Escape Trailers make tiny 5th wheel trailers about that size. All fiberglass, so no seams to seal or roofs to leak!

Very nice build! Thank you for sharing. Looks like the dinette would make into a bed as well. As a child my mom & dad had a small trailer & our family of 5 fit in it. My brothers slept over head, mom & dad slept on the dinette & I slept under the dinette bed. OF course we had a chamber pot instead of a toilet. I would really enjoy having a trailer like this!

It looks cool just something to remember with the overhang. If your truck has a tall topper or ladder rack, you would most likely have to use a hitch extension to keep the RV overhang from hitting when you turn.

​@chrisallen2005 I know first-hand because I had a truck camper I would sometimes put on my car/equipment trailer when I needed to use my removable ladder rack. The front of the truck camper was even with the trailer tongue. I had a 4 foot extension, which was way overkill, I think a 2' would have worked but I already had the 4 foot extension hitch which I chained/turnbuckled back up to the truck for extra strength. That gave the extra distance I needed when turning sharp, so nothing would go "crunch."

This was my first thought when I saw where the trailer tongue was, I alway have a camper top on my truck, but thats just me. Camper top on my truck protects any gear I have for fishing or hunting if I use my truck as a mobile camper, or just an overnite crash pad traveling across country.

I’ve seen a lot of cab over campers on trailers with ATVs and Snomachines. Some turned around so the windows are more protected from the flying rocks on roads. Saw one on a pontoon boat on a highway once.

I love the interior and floor plan setup. I do a lot of off-roading and camping and I’ve been wanting to get a trailer instead of using a tent. Only thing I’d change for my purpose is larger leaf springs and tires and a pintle hook setup to be able to tow it into where I want to go. But I can do those mods myself in my driveway.

My daughter just bought a vintage Fleetwood 5th wheel. Similar layout with the Bathroom in the back. Very convenient. Not too crazy about the the location of the table. If someone sleeping in the overhang area need the washroom in the night it may be awkward getting over those sleeping on the lower level.

My family had a trailer in the early sixties that I think was a Sante Fe. Sort of the same layout with the cab over . Knotty pine interior ,bathroom, really cool. I'll bet this trailer featured will be a game changer for the industry.

Make the overhang part a little lower and deeper and you'd get to keep all your truck bed for storage with a cover but the convenience of a regular bumper tow hitch! Also make it a little longer with dual axles to counter the aforementioned size increase. Now that could be a big seller!

We had one by Shasta 16’ my parents first trailer. It was a 1963 or 1964 first trip to Yellowstone, Tetons and Mount Rushmore 3 weeks swing through the west. It works well.

I really like that approach to just being different. So many just build the same ones over and over. That size is great for a couple. A duel axle with a bit more length for a family and these guys are golden with this idea.

Manufacturers seem to have forgotten that on in an RV for a lot of folks or camper trailer is a luxury and there needs to be markets for all the budgets people want to spend on luxury goods. Having something like this and the High Teens low 20s allows first-timers and beginners to enter the market which I think is really smart so props to these guys. Still waiting for the super small lightweight camper with toilet it's enclosed that isn't a pop-up to be in the 6,000 to 10,000 range.

Super-cool! I love the 50's retro vibe, and the living space seems quite... LIVE-ABLE. Also like the separated shower/ toilet (so not a wet-bath). Looks like good storage in the bath room, too, in those cubbies. The light weight is great, and even though I know little about it, I agree - having that heavier tongue/ hitch area, seems like it would give better control - especially in windy conditions, etc. Like the aluminum frame, but (and you didn't mention it), how is the insulation? Should be able to fit some super-insulation into the framing spaces, to compensate for the lack of wood frame and its insulation value. (But, beyond reading some books, what do I know? I've never built anything "real' in my life.. :-) Glad this showed up in my feed. TFS!! Kudos to the makers!

I love it. Just saw the video. Typically, I find that if a trailer is too large you lose that camping feeling. That's just me. It's compact yet comfortable with nice utilities. It would serve a couple well or a solo camper. The retro design is well done. Would not mind seeing it with a 50s diner look for the interior as an option.
