Select truck parking spaces will be painted green and informational signs equipped with Bluetooth technology will communicate with the ParkUnload app when a driver’s phone is in close proximity to the parking zone. Once the app detects the marked zone, the truck driver can park and check in to the selected parking space on the app. The app will show other drivers remaining spaces at the facility. Signs also will also provide drivers with additional information.

This made my day. On June 30, 2020 I caught up with your rig on I 80 in Nebraska. I was so fascinated with the little car behind the cab of the semi that I saved the dash cam footage. Well today I was scrolling through KZbin videos and just came across your video channel. When I saw the car and the colors I went back into my saved videos And sure enough it’s your rig. The license plate on the trailer matches. It was so fun actually seeing the inside of the rig and everything that you do because I’d always wondered once I passed you. Safe travels.

You two are doing it right! Smelling the roses along your travels. How fun to get to look for special sights to see that are off the freeway’s and are seeing things that are so easy to miss if you’re just destination oriented! Minnetonka slippers are the BEST, every year on the way to the lake I got Turquoise Minnetonka soft moccasins on the way to the lake, from the time I was 5 till I went away to college. Always the same style and color 😅😅😅😅😅

Sondra, I can really identify the feeling you get walking into a store like that! I’m a quilter and recovering knitter so our travels, although not full-time, often take me to new locations for fabric fun! My purchases don’t add up to a lot since I really have almost everything want. I’ve retired from managing a quilt shop, and I love visiting new places to see how those stores operate. I keep a Google map of stores all over the country as my to-do list!

I'm not into scapbooking, but I am into fiber arts and other crafts (candle making), so am deeply sympathetic with Sondra's excitement in regards to being able to spend 2 full days at Scapmania. For me, it would be a yarn barn, fabric warehouse, or crafting warehouse. Anything connected to fiber arts is my strong suit: knitting, crochet, macrame, embroidery, and of course sewing, and I usually design my own projects and create my own patterns. My mother was a custom clothing designer and seamstress/tailor, she taught me the basics from early childhood on, and I exceeded her teachings by taking classes on my own. I haven't had time this past decade or so to pursue these hobbies (which have occasionally been my livelihood, I have Fiber Arts resume) and have to admit I miss them. And, having been diagnosed with essential tremor (often confused w/Parkinson's) last year, my once clever, nimble fingers are now less so, despite daily medication. Like Parkinson's, it's a progressive disease, so not sure I'll ever really be able to enjoy my hobbies in the future, should I ever retire and have time. Count your blessings!

🥺 I couldn't imagine not being able to do what I love to do. Not only do I like to journal (papercraft) but I am saving up materials for when we settle down and I can get out my sewing machine and serger. I'm not all that good but it's fun. My mother is an excellent seamstress and has taught me some of her skills. Thank you for your comment we really appreciate it. 🙂

You are in my home turf. I grew up there in that neighborhood. I-80 was my 2nd home for Sunday dinners. You should have stopped at the Iowa Machine Shed, one exit back, is an excellent place for a meal. Iowa has a lot more things than people realize. Happy Birthday Sandra! Loved seeing you crossing the Mississippi River in my hometown area. Iowa where everyone is Iowa nice. Preliminary tornado count in Iowa is 94 with 4 deaths and 35 injured. I may have to check out the Scrapbook store. I am in Cedar Rapids in two weeks with our hot air balloon for a evening balloon glow.

It is amazing, the things you see while traveling down the road. Especially when there has been a tornado or storms with high winds before you are coming through. First time, if I recall correctly, was when I was on 81S in VA going to TN in the RV. Got to a place called Chilhowie VA and started to see houses with their roofs all gone, on both sides of the interstate. It was overwhelming. Then there was a truck stop on the opposite side, 81N, and like what you saw, tractor trailers were strewn about and gas island canopies all over the place, no glass windows in the buildings. Gives you the willies. So glad you pulled over and didn't have any events there at that TS. Happy Belated Sondra! That makes you a Gemini also, right?

Happy Birthday Sondra! What a great way to spend your special day surrounded by all those amazing supplies for your favorite hobby! So glad you made it through the bad weather safely. All those trucks flipped over, horrifying. We travel in a small Winnebago Navion and had the misfortune to be in Texas earlier this spring when there was so many storms resulting in so much flooding. The journey can definitely be an adventure at times. Really enjoy your videos, stay safe!

Loved this video , wished I could have gone there. Watching her go through store was hilarious. Personally am a stamp addict. Have over a thousand but also have boxes of papers, pens s, paints etc. hey you could make handmade cards for family and friends. Also have some stickers. Your journaling has given me ideas lol. Thanks! I'm just now exploring the world of stamps. I bought a few to play with and now trying to figure out what kind of inks would work best for my application - Distressed Ink or Distressed Oxide? 🤔 it can't bleed thru the journal paper not Bleed when I color it in with a marker.

@@mrsbigtruckbigtravels726 use permanent ink. That after being stamped could use markers or watercolor pencils or sure about distress inks but email the company that puts them and ask if they are permanent inks

Oh forgot to tell you Do Not use alcohol based markers,they will bleed through. Btw are you using regular paper or card stock type, makes a difference in some techniques . Sorry to bother you .

3 comments (all for the price of 1) There have been multiple additions to the building & the parking lot at the Iowa 80 over the more than 3 decades I've been driving cross country. The truck was put in during one of the additions. I noticed, all of the trucks spread out over several miles were layed over in the same direction. A tornado wouldn't have been so neat. That was a straight line wind. And, David did that 2 day shopping trip bring about a coma in the price tag? The birthday cake really was a nice touch!

You were in my area when you showed those overturned trucks between the Tipton exit and west liberty exit. There was a small tornado that crossed 80

There were probably some straight line winds spread across the area as well to take out that many trucks. I used to live in the area also except I was at the Oxford/Kalona exit on I-80 about 8 miles west of the 80/380 interchange. I worked in Cedar Rapids at Cedar River Paper Company and a coworker of mine actually lived in Tipton. I lost a home to a tornado that came through Iowa City/Coralville June 28th 1997 or 98. It’s getting hard to remember the date anymore as I get older. It was when the tornado blew the train off the tressel bridge behind Menards in Iowa City into the river. I sure miss living there except for the winters.

The green lanes at the truck stops are a test program to identify whether there are open parking spaces. A trucker would use an app to check in or out. As a trucker approaches the truck stop he/ she can check the app to see if a green painted parking spot is available.

Highway 80 truckstop is at fantastic truckstop. I used to go there when I drove truck. I lived in Nebraska and Omaha now I moved out to California so I kind of missed the place but it’s a very nice truckstop there. I hope you guys are having fun. Enjoy your time. The BEAUTIFUL FARMLAND OF THE MIDWEST STATES❣️❣️ Each year I make it home and feel such peace and solitude driving off the interstate into the Farm roads of this great State. I grew up in Des Moines and still count it as home even though I have been gone 30 years. It’s a privilege to return each year.😍😍😍. (Tornado season: Batten down the hatches!!!! Iowa is such a pretty state. I had never been there til Memorial Day weekend when my wife and I decided to take a trip there. We went to Boone and Pella and were both blown away. We live in Kansas City, MO so it's not very much of a drive. So there will definitely be more visits to Iowa in our future. As you were talking about the smiles and miles and all that, I remembered something I heard years ago that I thought David would like.... What's the longest word in the dictionary? Hi you guys!! You guys will be or are already in Caldwell...we are just outside Boise until next week. Sondra...you really need to check out Crafters Warehouse in Meridian Idaho off Eagle St. Oh my goodness they have everything and I've been there twice now. Maybe go back this Saturday. The day after we arrived here a micro burst went through. I thought our 5th wheel was going to tip over. That was the scariest thing we've ever gone through!! Safe travels you guys, next week we're off to Montana. 💜
