Among the courses that used to hold F1 Sepang is one of the best, tricky, physical and interesting to watch. The last win for Italians and first 1-2 for Renault F1 Team since the early 80's was there in 2006. Thanks a lot Zeddie, we go! 🏁✌

7:50 we have moved a long way from this... an unprotected crane with cars passing at +200Km/h through the corner, mere meters away. I miss that F1, with far less red flags and safety cars, "purer" in a way, but ultimately it costed Bianchi's life.

"Ciao Pietro". An emotional weekend for Fisico. He drove for something bigger than himself this weekend. BAR had a seriously fast car this weekend. How Kimi beat Jenson in the standings, I don't really know.

On average pace McLaren and Honda were relatively equal but the reason why Kimi beat Jenson was because of Honda's mid season slump in form when Geoff Willis got sacked, Button wasn't making Q3 in fact he was getting knocked out in Q1 on occasions.

@@classicsportclassictiyl8547 It was because Kimi was obviously a better driver, beating Button in a straight duel at Hockenheim was a huge result for example. The passes on Jenson at Melbourne, Nurburgring, Hockenheim and China were mega too. Kimi was driving the wheels off it.

Fisi last race win in the sport, funnily enough all 3 wins came from somewhat fortunate circumstances Brazil 03 with the red flag, Aus 05 with the Quali weather break and here with Alonso having refuelling issues for the Q3 fuel burn stage compromising Quali and his race Also how Williams blew this opportunity it’s just another foreshadowing of their downfall this year is the year I really associate with their downfall with the BMW engine no longer hiding their flaws (by 2004 it was already struggling to do that)

Italian driver Alberto Ascari won at Monza in 1951 & 1952 while driving for Ferrari. He is also the last Italian Driver to win the Drivers Championship in 1952 & 1953 while driving for Ferrari and he is the Last Italian drivers Champion in F1.

Seen a few comments mentioning how far Renault (Or Team Enstone) have fallen since 2006 and this stat probably sums it up best: Renault (Enstone) won 8 races in 2006, they’ve only won 5 between 2007-2024
