It might be easier to knock the pins out if you heat the chain first and let the pin loosen up as it cools.

I took balls from a ball bearing and drilled it. Didn't make any threads inside but directly fused the rods into the balls by welding
@MaximilianonMars4 жыл бұрын
@@doctor.sreeraj I have seen people make notches in the rod with a Dremel and using JB Weld instead. That's the route I'd go, cleaner and easier. Hopefully strong enough.

Tip how to drill a ball bearing, heat it up cherry red and let it cool. The ball is now softer , get ball held in multi grips and grind off a flat surface with sanding /grinding wheel. Place into a hollowed out area v area on a vice on a drill press. Centre punch the centre of the flat section. Use a cobalt drill and drill a hole. Silver solder a rod to the ball. If you want the ball to be rock hard reheat it then quench it in water! But you usually won’t need to.
@AlexMint3 жыл бұрын
They make a tool that's specifically designed to split bike chain rivets, though I guess if you're good enough with a punch it might be unnecessary for these destructive purposes.

@edupuertasfruns4 жыл бұрын

This is fantastic! I have a question for you Edu , I’m looking at Shaun the sheep character, is he made of silicone ? If that’s true how can I cast something in silicone ? Can I cast silicone in a silicone mold ? Also, how do you think that they make his eyes blink ? Are they silicone replacements too or are they just plasticine ? What about his mouth ? I’m assuming that’s silicone too, or resin ? I know this is a big question, but I hope you can help me! I’m trying to understand stop motion

As i told you, i made this last week from a motor cycle chain which is strong and thick. I could never find the balls. So i took 8mm balls from a ball bearing and made holes in it to push the rods into it and fused it with a torch. I also made the holes in the plates a bit wider to lodge the balls into it perfectly. Everything is ready. But brother, i have no idea how to make the small and precise movements of those joints on a rig. Please do a video to make it painless to make movements or any hacks to make the movements easier. I want my puppet to do yoga. And do you have any videos to dress up a an armature into a puppet?
