National Bike Week 22' in Ireland ran from the 14th to the 22nd of May 2022.
With great support from the National Transport Authority, cycling/sports bodies and County Councils across Ireland held a multitude of different cycling activities in celebration of all things bike!
Glencullen Adventure Park was no exception with support from Cycling Ireland we able to run the GAP's contribution to Bike Fest as part of Bike Week. The GAP first became involved with Bike Week in 2019. The last two years Biking has become more important than ever and we wanted to reflect that by making Bike Fest in the GAP better than ever!
Throughout the week we offered free Pedal Ups, Uplifts, Bike Rentals & coaching for beginners as well as advanced youth, men's and women's coaching.
We had advanced and beginner coaching courses throughout the week taught by EWS rider Gav Carroll & Al Redmond of the off-road commission. Cycling Ireland set up shop with their stand and impressively taped race track for friends to challenge each other. They also had a power challenge on a stationary bike and the bunny hop challenge all with leaderboards. The party was really brought home on Saturday were we saw DJ Mark McCabe with his decks stomping up a storm in the skills area, a skills display by Gav Carroll and Djouceman. A Knock out style Dual Slalom race finished the day and winner Tommy Magnenat took the title!
CCM Racing also had an amazing Fox stand and games to play on the day.
Be sure to keep and eye out next year for #BIKEFEST2023
