Hepco & Becker have been making quality German luggage for many years, and made the original Krauser cases fitted to BMW in the 70’s. I have similar top loading Givi cases on my V strom and they are more practical to use than side loading ones.

Both the side and top casese have the pro's and con's. The onces from Hepco & becker are really nice and easy to take off

2-Up on a bumpy road? Doesn't look like there's much clearance between pannier and exhaust? Any problems yet?
@M0Tourist3 жыл бұрын
There is quit a bit of clearance, but since both the panniers and the exhaust are rigid mounted they don't move at all. Below is a picture from the Hepco & Becker site, showing the clearance better than in the video: www.hepco.nl/?gclid=CjwKCAiA-9uNBhBTEiwAN3IlNEjtSWi9pHlCL9l91Qn8crhGOd_ApLuSjNXZF64vawCpVBwGfb6cpxoCw8UQAvD_BwE

@@M0Tourist Great to know! I'm equipping my new DL650, which replaced my old one. I'm putting Wild Heart soft panniers on. Already fitted the Cosmo pannier rails. Next step if to fashion a heat shield. The exhaust is pretty much wider than the ones out there for sale...

@@johnyoung3511 They also look really nice. It's always nice to fabricate something yourself, I'm planning to make a radiator guard and headlight guard for my own bike (R1100GS) as one of the winter projects ;)

I ve just now installed a rack from Givi. Super easy actually... Now i am waiting for the side cases... Since i am on a budget, i ve ordered the givi e360n monokey system. I have a question about the torque wrench. Which one are you using? I would like also to get one. Useful tool, especially for the motorcycle.
@M0Tourist2 жыл бұрын
I've ordered mine from www.louis.nl/katalog/suche/produkte?search_term=moment&searchButton=&page=1&main_category_id=370 You'll probably need 2 of them, just see in your bikes shop manual/guide what lowest and highest torque value is that you'll be able to achieve. The torque wrench I've are pretty cheap and probably not super accurate, but they will do the job for the DIY stuff (preventing you from stripping or snapping bolts).

Sad that you only worried about covering your plate and not your neighbours's :c

Although I didnt do a great job covering the bikes plate I'll cover the cars plates next time as well
