tip for you i switched my luggage around so that the lids stay open, the locks face the rear of the bike instead of facing forward. this also allows me to access the locks from behind the bike. this seems safer if i need in the left luggage while pulled into the shoulder. and in the end of your video it looks like you switched yours around as well. cheers from oklahoma, looking forward to my next ride thru arkansas

The bolt you install @4:02 in my kit isn't long enough to engage the bracer bar from the top rack assembly. Did you have to get a different bolt aftermarket? Or did yours have enough length?

The machine looks like it is ready for Colorado. Like Canon City to Salida. If you don't mind, who makes the bike trailer in the background, and are you happy with it? Thanks.
@ozarksbackroads54843 жыл бұрын
Hello sir, good to hear from you. The bike trailer I have is a Chinese knock off of the Kendon trailers built here in the states. Mine seems to be ok, I did replace the bearings and races first thing when it was new. I installed Federal Mogal bearings and threw the Chinese bearings in the trash. The trailer has done well, I have had no issues with it. If I did it over I would probably go ahead and get the Kendon trailer if I could afford to. Thanks for watching... keep safe out there.. :)

My man! This is the info I have been scouring the internet for. To wit, will an M9 plate mount to an SR3112 Kit. As far as I can tell, this is the only place that info exists, even the Revzilla geeks didn’t know the answer. So, thank you, I’m finally able to order what I need with certainty.

I’m mid install here. Did you leave those original bushings in the rack bolt holes when you installed the top rack support? It doesn’t mention it in the instructions, but seems like it might be necessary so that the spacers make contact with the rack components. I’m gonna leave them in. I’d appreciate hearing your take on it and what you did.
@ozarksbackroads54842 жыл бұрын
I believe I left those in as well.... :)
@whinstonwhoodle63732 жыл бұрын
@@ozarksbackroads5484 Perfect. Thanks, man. I’m actually wondering if not leaving them in is what was causing the broken bolt issues some people were having. There’d certainly be a lot more play without them. But who knows, maybe they just didn’t observe the torque specs.

Hi there. What's your opinion on the width of this side panniers setup? Here in Portugal filtering is very frequent but roads aren't as wide as in the U.S. and I'm wondering if you feel confortable in traffic using these. Own a brand new 2023 v-strom 650. Yours is looking slick.
@ozarksbackroads5484 Жыл бұрын
Good to hear from you sir, I have never traveled in an area where filtering is allowed so I can't really speak on the subject but I have banged the hard cases on a few trees while out bush bashing. I would say that the cases are not any wider on the V-Strom than on any other adventure bike.. Since the V-Strom has the low muffler the right side case is as close to the bike as the left side case is... Some bikes will have the right side case setting on the outside of a high muffler which makes the cases even wider apart... Congrats on your new ride and thanks for watching... :)

Hi, just became a 2021 VStrom Owner, what screen have you fitted to your bike?
@ozarksbackroads54843 жыл бұрын
Hello there sir, congrats on the new ride. You have great taste in motorcycles... the windscreen I have on mine is the medium height Givi Touring Screen. It is just the right height for me and does a pretty good job as well. Thanks for watching.. keep safe on that new ride... :)

Hi John, really like your videos. Please keep up the great work. I have a question that you might be able to help with. I have the 2019 V-Strom 650 Adventure XT that came with OEM side bags. I'd like to swap these for the Givi bags, but the OEM bags have a mounting bracket that I see is different on your bike. The mounting bracket covers the subframe below the grab handles. In the video, at 2:45 you run your hand across yours. Mine is different because it has mount points for the OEM bags. I'm pretty sure those mount points will interfere with the Givi racks. Do you know what these plates are called and how I can find a pair like yours? I've called several dealers and all they can sell me are the ones like mine.
@ozarksbackroads54842 жыл бұрын
Hello there sir, good to hear from you. My bike had the same set up as yours with the hard bags when I bought it. Those hard bag mounts come off and the Givi side case racks will mount up. I also have the Givi Trekker Outback side case racks on my bike. Givi has gotten it right... I have carried a lot of gear in my Givi side cases over some pretty rough ground and the racks and cases have held up without any issues... thanks for watching and keep safe out there... :)

John, I mention before that I have the same year and model V-Strom and cannot find the video that you installed the handlebar risers and a radiator guard. Would you let me know about the bar risers and radiator guard and what video they are on so I can purchase them? Thanks, you produce great video's of bike modifications and tours.
@ozarksbackroads54842 жыл бұрын
Hey there Robert, I don't think I did a video on the riser's or the radiator cover. If I did I cannot locate it now. Both are very easy installs. The ROX risers are the 1 1/2" rise Speed FX model for a 7/8 inch bar. You can source ROX Risers just about any were but Amazon might be the cheapest place to snag a set. The Radiator grill I purchased from Ravetech.com when I purchased their skid pan. It is a very sturdy steel grill. Mine has a few paint chips on it now where it has been doing it's job. Hope this helps... thanks for watching and good luck with your projects... :)
