Thats right the trick is to spam jump as soon as you're going to touch down IF possible to maintain the energy. Ultimate pro tip: if you happen to land on a Edge without touching the wheels but only the metal part of the bicycle between the two wheels, the energy lost will be reduced but you have to jump quickly to get the speed before gravity takes over and you slide away from the edge of a platform
