You two are so fun and inspiring. My husband and I are heading out this week to cycle the Pacific Coast route and then the southern tier. Your wisdom and experience are so helpful to newbies like us. We are in our 60s--this ride is my husband's only bucket list item. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and enthusiasm!! You've helped me gain confidence!

I'm about to go on my first unsupported tour and have been trying to keep the tips from this and other vids y'all have uploaded in the back of my brain. Thanks for all the uploads!

You guys are awesome! We've been cycle touring around South Korea a lot this year and it can't be stressed enough how important rest is on the journey. This is great advice though and love your attitudes towards just having fun on the road and not trying to break records. Enjoy the break as long as you need! And see you when you're back!! 😊

Thanks so much for addressing this topic in a video. I find rest and recovery are often underrated, but as someone who got injured on a bicycle tour, I now recognize how important this is to the overall "success" and enjoyment of a tour. Thank you and enjoy your time off.

Hey there, good Topic, as a bikepacker myself I know how important is to do rest breaks from time to time...

Great message, in the first two minutes of your video. Some days on tour 10 to 20 miles is enough. ______ Moreover, I often take a small book with me when I tour to, to break up constant riding. I'm actually about 65 Miles outside of Pittsburgh right now about to hop on the Gap trail. ______ I'm proud of myself I've gotten better at cycle touring over the past 15 years. __________ You two are delightful human beings.

I'm a bariatric patient about to go into surgery this friday, and my goal is to be able to tour across america on a bicycle. Your videos have helped me get over a lot of my fears, and hopefully I'll get my tour done in a couple of years! Thanks for making these vids!

Do it! Like riding there will be ups and downs, but if you set a clear target, be it weight or a date, and tell people your plan you can make it happen. When things are tough keep dreaming about your time on the road. Good luck.

Another great video thanks. You say you just dipped the old toes in the water on mental state, but actually the topic of this video has a lot to do with mindset. This is probably more important than the physical aspects on long tours. Kinda like pacing yourself on a long hill climb. Thanks again for useful insight.

Another excellent video, thanks! Is "brekkie" a word in the US? We say that here in the UK, but I don't recall ever hearing that in my 23 years in the States? Maybe it's a Rad Bike Adventures cosmopolitan/global term? ;-) Enjoy the rest from KZbin - you deserve it.
