For sure I'd be all over the place, it's so hard using a rear brake on dirt bikes vs fingers for mountain bike!
@dannyfar79893 ай бұрын
The boot isn't a problem, the soles are stiff and not really compressible. What is difficult however is modulating the brake with the foot you also use for steering with the pegs and balancing on them. You are shifting weight on that foot constantly whilst modulating the brakes, that is what makes it so difficult. See:, race car drivers. Especially rally do that modulation with their feet too. What they don't do is stand on and balance a vehicle with that foot at the same time.

the course is not open to ride offside the competition. the mountainbikers have 3 days practise with a few runs. It was Gildstones firsrt ever participation. So goldstone did nit had much more practise. if there would be a moto dh race the riders could figure out the perfect süeed and lines and bring down the time, probably to the range of the record time. it comes all down to the course. A MTB has to ride every corner and technical feature on the limit. A moto can do them save and be up to race speed in a blink without losing much time. Jumps are easy for moto. Its all about the course. Few small changes and eather mtb or moto could let the other eat dust. I bet a moto would beat a mtb on hardline tasmania easy. dont see that on most uci worldcup tracks.

Great example of why 300cc 2strokes are the bike of choice for the hard enduro discipline. A 450 4stroke has so much more engine inertia that would make slowing down on those hills way harder and hitting those super tight turns much more difficult. The 2 stroke has less moving parts in the engine helping with tighter turning and maneuvers. JW is a legend and that Beta is on point! Bring on Erzberg!!

First of all that is mad impressive I've rode plenty of single track and hard enduro on dirt bikes and would never touch a MTB downhill track. With that said no way that with more practice and competition that they wouldn't smash the MTB record. If one top enduro rider with way less time on the course than the MTB competitors is already at podium pace I find it hard to believe that the dirt bikes aren't way quicker on the course.
@nikonuv64343 ай бұрын
They do save a lot of time in all the accelerations of course. On every turn. Finish line acceleration alone probably saved him 10 seconds. I kept thinking how in earth MTBer can keep the speed if they ride faster than a moto.

@@nikonuv6434 I imagine the MTB's are making their time at the top of the course in the tight flow sections through the woods. They don't lose time in the corners where the Johnny Walker had to slow with how tight the course is. If moto riders had the same amount of time on this course as the hardline guys we'd see a big gap in time.
