@vocalimpactplays2176 ай бұрын
The amount of vertical distance you could fall on that river jump instantly pushes it from feeling like Hardline to seeming like it's straight out of Rampage, it's absolutely wild. Matt's POV footage off that lip really highlighted just how kicky it is (or was, sounds like it's getting some adjustments) tpp...it didn't seem as bad from Bernard's POV, but after watching Matt do it I totally get how Jim lost control, seemed like he got bounced off as soon as he hit it. Seems like they could widen the landing quite a bit too, Bernard's angle was slightly off on the launch and he nearly missed the entire thing.
@deslomator6 ай бұрын
This looks an order of magnitude more dangerous than climbing a crane. Sweaty palms are expected in both cases, though.

Didn't watched the whole Video when I commented. Jim almost did that, what I said. They gain so much speed while jumping in the roll in. The transition between the roll in and flat is so quick and short, they will shoot with so much impact in the jump thats also pretty quick and short they will just do what Jim did.

As entertaining as it is , we're kind of pushing the boundaries a bit now aren't we lads . After a major injury in my younger days , a total hip replacement with bone grafts and a titanium rod down my leg , I'm still suffering horrific pain today to the point of being unable to walk occasionally or even Ride , and missing what should have been the best days of my life - Playing adequately with my kids . I'm at the point I cannot afford a full squish bike to make riding tolerable on my body , due to the inability to work consistently with my injury to generate the income - it is horrible . You got to stop at some point and ask the question ; When actually did Downhill or Enduro riding become a Dare Devil competition ? What you guys do is impressive , appreciated and intertaining enough , but is pushing the boundaries for our entertainment really worth the lifelong repercussions when something goes very wrong , on a feature that's Really Not that nessesary ? Just food for thought out of concern for you boys for the long term , you got to think ahead amongst all the adrenaline ! 👍 Great video and Stay safe Matt and the rest of you Lads - (Nutters ! 😁) 🇦🇺

While i do agree with your sentiments you must understand that adrenaline is the best drug and also 'free'. As an adrenaline junkie into my fifties I admire this pushing the boundaries. Having said that, I am lucky enough to not have that many serious long term repercussions from my past endeavers.

Matt, after watching you work up to clearing the 90 footers last year and running hardline Tasmania, you’ve earned my respect. But to see you running this new course right behind Bernard and then hitting that insane gap…..my mind is blown! Mad props bro 🤜🤛
@topspot48346 ай бұрын
I've always had a ton of respect for Matt, not just as a rider, but as a creator, businessman and online personality ... But I agree with you, this past year has been insane and he's clearly leveled up. He's one of the best overall riders in the world right now, and in a KZbin genre that's clearly on a downturn, he continues to consistently make original and entertaining content. Lockdown was his peak, but IMO his best work by far has been from Darkfest to now.
@Mk3Lew6 ай бұрын
I never really get anxious seeing the photos of new crazy features you guys hit. Be it a crazy exposed rampage line, darkfest, or the old hardline course or the one from tassie this year but from the moment I first saw the photos of that canyon gap on Gee’s Insta I was nervous for the riders. The radius on that takeoff looks far too tight for the size of the gap and the speed involved. And you could see it when Bernard first hit it that it bucked him. But this is why these features get tested so changes can be made before the event. Props for getting over it so cleanly dude. Healing vibes to Jim as that was literally a nightmare scenario as soon as he hit that compression at the bottom of the roll in. That lad needs to buy a lottery ticket with luck like that. Very keen to see the changes that are made to it and some full runs of the track.
