I like what Chris mentioned that noone else does. MotoGP and F1 are made to race around twisty tracks yet they still manage to be so fast in a straight line.

MotoGP outright beats everything in a straight line including F1, but F1 still has impressive straight line but they shine the best around corners which their lap times beats MotoGP. But the only thing that I think can beat both MotoGP straight line speed and F1 cornering speed (current gen, ground effect F1 that is) is the 919 Hybrid Evo. I know that it is a oneoff thing but the acceleration and cornering capability of that thing is no joke, it's a shame Porsche did so little with it.

@@ryndrssn It may be faster round some corners than current F1, because the stupid cunts keep adding on weight. Some slower corners, but medium and high speed corners F1 is faster. Yes Pedrosa has always been the best starter in MotoGP, a great guy (apart from taking out team mate Nicky Hayden in 2006) and yes a great rider with no one else better for these drag races... HOWEVER saying all that the races where Dani won was when he jumped the start, overall the Nevera still had the edge overall on the MotoGP bike, the MotoGP bike is slightly quicker around 150kph to 310kph but overall so closely matched with the Nevera, come on Redbull bring the 950hp/520kg RB1 their very first car and get Ford to make another V10 like they use to run in the RB1, near 2000hp/ton would yield a 0-300kph in 8.2sec and that would beat the Nevera and I'd say with that 8.2sec to hit 300kph they would win here so bring the 2023 bike with 300hp and a few more tweaks, also try bring the Tesla Roadster with the space x package and a Koenigsegg Gemera 2300hp or Jesko Absolut, that would be the epic 2023/2024 race.

KTM have been getting super quick launches this Motogp season, the best of any manufacturer. They went back to a cable actuated clutch for better feel off the line (the only time they use it) and with the front and rear lowered it becomes a drag bike. 280 hp + a racing slick for traction + Dani = spectacular starts. Brad Binder and Jack Miller have been doing the same in Motogp this season, rocketing off the line.

The Ride height stuff is getting a bit ridiculous now, it's 100% mechanical / hydraulic rider controlled because of the rules.

The new 5 axis IMU used in GP bikes you can set maximum nose lift angle aka wheely control. No it's different especially all the tools they were using inside that bike. One blogger who are a fan of both F1 & MotoGP got the vip chance to witness how the people work on this bikes. He said that he was amazed about the technology inside of it. He compared it to F1 & he said that basically could really make F1 cars run for their money in terms technology. It means these machines are basically on par on terms advancement. It's just F1 of course started early & had evolved quickly than MotoGP. Then, the change of regulations that DoRNA have implemented in 2016 just to cut the cost & encourage new manufacturers to join once again hurt the evolution of GP bike. They removal of the sophisticated prototype ECU of every factory which has been developed to it's best really brought down the quality of the bikes. Although it helps in a way that the racing became more closer recording 9 different winner in 2016. Anyway, Magnetti Marelli did improve though today thanks to the manufacturers camaraderie to make it better. But it will never match the Factory ECU's of the past that even Wsbk Champion/GP rider Colin Edwards said that the Magnetti Marelli was 7-8 years behind of what he was using in his Tech3 Yamaha M1 of 2011.

Car and GP bike are amazing but the Super Busa is the best bang for your buck. Awesome thing. Looks fantastic in Gixxer colour scheme.

It’s to do with power to weight ratios and the main thing is actually torque to weight and traction. The KTM has a factor of 6.3694 (1000kg/157kg = 6.3694). Thus the KTM has 270bhp x 6.3694 = 1,719.738 bhp/tonne. The Suzuki = 3.9216, bhp/tonne = 1411.776 bhp/tonne. The Rimac has a terrible bhp/tonne! It weighs 2300kg (data from website). Thus 1000/2300 x 1914 = 832.17 bhp/tonne. NOW, here’s where it gets interesting. If you look on Rimac’s site, the wheel torque is 13430Nm which equates to 5,839 Nm/tonne. Busa comes in at 1333.34Nm/tonne, KTM comes in at 7,643.28Nm/tonne. So why does the Rimac win and the Busa come a dismal last? Electric motors deliver almost instantaneous torque. Add that to 4 wheel drive, and it’s always going to get the best start. If it was over half a mile, rather than a quarter mile, it would be a KTM win. The Busa is a waste of money. Because you can’t get the power down. Superchargers are great at very low revs. At high revs they consume (albeit a small amount of) power. If the KTM had 2 wheel drive, it would get a much better start.

We may need to stretch that Busa a bit and get a bigger tire. Much wider. :)

Hats off to everyone involved. We need to get Matt back on a bike (he rode 400cc grey imports in the 90's).
