Watched your video on the Bike Hand Workstand. Bought it thru your link and it arrived today! Unboxed, set it up and within 20 min had a bike up on the stand and changing a tire. Whole system works like a charm! I appreciate your video on this, because I was at a loss as where to start. Thanks again.

I use five of these for teaching bike maintenance. Decent value if you can find them at a sensible price but there are two main issues to be aware of: 1. They become unstable when you remove a wheel from the bike, particularly the rear wheel. You need to reposition the bike to keep it balanced and take care to avoid it toppling. 2. After prolonged use they all develop a pretty loud creak. Mine are three years old and all do it; irritating at best and distracting when teaching people how to listen for derailleur trim or truing rims and rotors. Not deal breakers and they're great value for occasional use but in no way a substitute for more robust options from Feedback Sports or Park Tool.

❤️ A solid, short and well narrated review. Thank you for selling me - a 76 years old - this stand for small maintenance work on my bike. 😊

I have the same Bike Hand model. Overall I really like it. A Big plus is that the main structure is aluminum and does not rust. That alone makes it better for washing bikes than the Park options. The bolt on the cam lever did strip after a while and I just went to the hardware store for a bolt and Large grip nut.

I have the CXWXC stand that you scrolled over at the 5:10 mark, and did a short YT review on it. I have accidentally tipped it over a few times. I've also found it to be unstable when removing heavier bikes. When I unclamp from the seatpost/dropper, I also have to unwind the lever in circles to gain clearance needed to remove the seatpost from the clamp jaws, all while holding the bike in the air with the other hand. That can be a balancing act and much easier with my lighter 18 lb gravel bike than a 32 lb alloy Stumpjumper. Would definitely like to try a 3 or 4 leg design next time around.

I have the same stand as well as a 10+ year old Park Tool comparable stand (older model of the basic amateur stand). The Bike Hand is just as good if not better and costs about 1/2 of the PT stand. I like the cam-lock closure to clamp the bike into the stand; my older Park Tool stand doesn’t have the cam lock, just a simple screw down metal handle. And the PT tool tray for the stand was extra ($30?); the BH stand comes with the tool tray. When I bought the PT stand the BH wasn’t on the market (pre-Amazon days I think). Today I would just buy the Bike Hand. But I do love Park Tool tools, have lots of them :)

Thank you for the really clear and all around great review. I have researched this stand for a while and own some Bikehand tools - so I was ready for this. I ordered one from Amazon today. P.S. I already own a Park 10.2 for my home shop. I have no regrets as it is really a great stand. However, we have a Cabin which is adjacent to our Son's Family. I am the Bike Fixing Guy - and I just could not see spending another arm and leg for a Park. But this BikeHand appears to be more than sufficient! :) P.P.S.S. We also have 6 Grandchildren in Thailand - and I really NEED a bike stand there. So, I am already looking to figure out how to to a BikeHand Bike Repair Stand there. :) Looks like Shopee for 4,900 THB ($140.00). :)

Great stand for the money. Use it all the time. Mine have the interlocking plastic teeth and they were not looking like they'd hold when i was removing a very tight square taper crank that required a lot of torque. I did that on the floor cause if it slipped, it woujdnt gave been pretty. Also gave the bottom section pole a light greasing as the leg did not fold up easy (too much friction)

I have owned mine for over 4 years. I have the same opinion, it is a great budget stand. I would also recommend this stand to a home bike mechanic.

If you take the bolt out of the back lever handle you can tighten the interlocking jaws with a 6mm hex key, takes a minute then it`s tight and like new again.

I have a different brand but it appears identical. I’ve used it for about three years. My only complaint is the wobbling head as you described. But it’s worked flawlessly.

Was considering the hd unit but your video is making me think this one is plenty solid enough. Like you my heaviest bike is well under 30 lbs so weight isn’t the issue. I was previously just worried about the plastic hardware and cracking but if it’s stood up to your usage. Which is 4 times the use I’d be giving it. I’m pretty sure this one will be fine. Thank you for posting your review. Also the bolts that get rusty could easily be swapped out with stainless steel

You ought to be fine with the standard version, but hd is still an option if you plan to do a lot of wrenching

For heavy torque, like removing a square taper crank, I take my bike off the stand ... my first try on the stand was worrisome and if the teeth slip (they were very close to) you'd have a disaster BUT .. I do 95% of all work on the stand and love it.

Thanks so much for this video. I have the Park PCS-9....this is much more versatile stand and looks to be far less cumbersome to setup and knock down. I like the portability to take to events or bike vacations. Need bike nerd stickers.....weeeeee

I appreciate the info. Much like you I got one for Christmas, but that was a few months ago not years. I haven't had much to complain about with it, still trying to figure out best practices when using it, but honestly not a huge fan of the tray. Too small to hold I need it to, yet the slots are too large to capture my tools. Other than though, definitely beats hanging a bike on the saddle from a rafter.
@TheBikeSauce

Yea the tray isn't ideal, but from what I recall, other small parts trays have similar designs. Hard to beat for the price

Hi. Just got the Bikehand bike repair stand and I love it. It is well constructed and is very compact. The only problem I am having is with the pressure clamps not closing all the way. I was using it today and the second clamp loosened, and the bike slid down. Any suggestions?

Great review. The only thing I don't like with these cheaper stands are the plastic clamps, I'm scared they will crack. The Parktool stands seem way more durable for this reason. I have no experience with either tho
@TheBikeSauce
@TheBikeSauce 2 жыл бұрын
Yea good point. It’s ‘plastic’ but a high yield abs that will deform before cracking.

Also have the cheaper Amazon stands with the same design. My experience matches yours. My small tool tray is a rectangle though with a magnetic base, a good place for errant screws and washers.

Please, tell me this somebody; I am 70 years old in decent shape and have a 75+ pound very big electric mountain bike. I physically cant't lift it a foot up into the air and then hold the bike in place while I tight the clamp. I bought another similar bike repair stand but have never been able to use it. I don't want to have to call my neighbor over everytime to help me. Any suggestions? I don't know why nobody makes a bike repair stand thst lowers down to the level of a bike seat to start with? It appears that the Bike Hand does not either?

I've had this for years and it's great. I think I'm on my 8th year with it. There are some small parts that have broken or gone missing, but it's been a $10-12 dollar trip to the hardware store to fix it. my only gripe with this one is that IT IS SO DANG NOISY!!! Evvvvery plastic-plastic or plastic-metal connection, every bolt, every screw creaaaaks and creaaaaaks. It's so noisy my roomates hate me working on my bikes, not be cause of the beating and banging of tools and bike parts... but because of this damn stand. That being said, if I did absolutely zero maintenance for 8 years on any other piece of bike equipment it would surely make this much noise if not more. So, I'm gonna grease and/or rubricate every point of contact on the thing and then report back if it changes my opinion. If not, I'm gonna get a parktool pro level stand and never think about this again.
