Nice one 🙌 I've paddled out there for a bivvy many times but never in a pack raft carrying a bike. Enjoyed watching the video, thanks.

Thanks Pete! It’s a great little adventure isn’t it? I’ll be doing more packraft trips in the New Year so stay tuned :)

Nice to see someone making proper food for a change :). Used to canoe/whitewater raft but was never a swimmer lol. Would love to do something like this but I’d probably fall in lol
@Cycling3662 жыл бұрын
Yes I fancied a proper meal rather than a pot noodle or something from a packet 😆 Haha it can get quite wobbly so might not be the best idea

@@Cycling366 yes I tend to eat less when cycling but I do like some real food when I get hungry. A fun wee adventure and shows even the smallest outing can be an adventure. Look forward to living vicariously through more of your bikerafting adventures.

Great micro trip. What model of raft? Pros or cons w it?
@Cycling3667 ай бұрын
Thanks! It’s an Alpacka Caribou - I’ll do a separate video on it as it’s quite niche! Expensive but if you want to do this sort of thing it’s worth it

Also camp spot! 🙌🏼 I paddled to wild cat island earlier this year! Would have loved to camp on it! 🏕

Thanks mate! Nice - it’s quite popular with campers it seems :)

Brilliant video mate, that raft looks a topper! Lovely steed you have aswell, which bike is it exactly? I've got a 2019 Genesis longitude, looks pretty similar to yours

Cheers mate! It’s a Charge Cooker 2016 model. They don’t make them anymore but it was a great bike!

Lovely stuff, did you launch and recover the drone while you were packrafting? Definitely added to the film…
@Cycling3662 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Well I firstly launched it on the island and flew it over to my mid point but I had to recover it on the raft as it started hammering it down! I then relaunched it to get that shot and landed it on the bank where I was mooring 👍

hi Just discovered your channel and enjoying your content.. Just out of interest can I ask what made you go for the charge cooker And what is your opinion now you've got a few miles on the clock and can I ask what size frame you have just that we seem to have the same bike with the topstone is yours the xl ?
@Cycling3662 жыл бұрын
Welcome to the channel! 👋 I wanted something simple and robust with fat tyres basically! Also was very cheap so I could spend a bit doing it up. :) I always go for the largest frame size for bikepacking bikes for relaxed geometry and more luggage clearance :) XL is usually my frame size

Would be worth adding a note to viewers following in your footsteps that camping isn't permitted on Peel Island, so be respectful of the land (avoid going #2, and absolutely no fires) and be aware that you'll be asked to leave if a National Trust ranger comes by...

Yes! Technically is the same for pretty much anywhere in England. Leave no trace as I did!
