Bikepacking the East Devon Trail | Day 1 - From Axminster to Wild Camp

Myself & a friend are cycling the East Devon Trail, a new UK 180km gravel bike packing route. We're bringing all our gear and wild camping as we go.

I’m doing this trip soon I can’t wait, I’ll have to check out your days 2 and 3. I’ll also be starting fro Axminster and think I’ve set the same 30 miles scheduled stops for wild camping

Go for it, plenty of places to wild camp. Make sure you stop late in the day.

Great trip. I'd be really interested to hear your opinions on fixed vs suspension forks for this sort of riding.

For this trip I think rigid forks were the better choice, there was quite a lot of road. Generally if you stay off the gnarly stuff, rigid is fine.

tough route, I live local and will have to get around to doing the whole thing in a row. Goes past my house.

Would recommend it but it certainly isn't an easy ride but we all like a challenge!
