Bike packing is a lot of fun , Scotland is a bit weird , no trees , no bushes , no flowers and no birds anywhere ? It is like the planet MARS or the moon ! I was up the Wick area , awful people and desolate mountains and dead lakes ! Inverness nice people and great pubs , Loch Ness was weird with not one single bird or wildlife to be seen , just desolate bleak dump of a country ! Wales is much better and Cornwall stunning !

Fantastic. I'm absolutely in awe of the off-road mileage you put in, but you still seem to enjoy the trip. As a Scot myself I'm doubly thankful for you passing through so many places that are dear to my heart. I'm still not sure how you can do it on a diet of pastry, meat and cold water, but you do, so hats (or helmets) off to you! Props. Can't wait for the next episode!

Not sure why you haven’t yet got a gazillion subscribers-really enjoyed this. Have cycled some of these sections and I clearly missed the correct entry to the military road to the Corrieyairack Pass as my start up there was v v narrow. Impressed you descended on the dark-I came off twice in the daylight on that descent-pretty chunky rocks around-was v envious of my mates hard tail mountain bike for that section. impressed also that you manage all those miles with so little food and no coffee-will look forward to what’s to come

Josh, great video of your Great British Divide John O'Groats to Lands End bikepacking trip. I am very interested in the outfront handlebar extension shown at the start of the video. It looks like a u-shaped device with some electronics on it. Could you or anyone else tell me the name and maker of the extension? I am about to set out on my first UK/Europe touring trip. Norwich, Amsterdam and on to Istanbul. If you ever cycle over in N. America, I recommend Alaska/ BCs/Top of the Workd hiway, Yukon Cassiar Highway, Dalton, and Dempster for gravel biking. Watch out for the bears tho'.

What a great video and great timing. I'm prepping my own End2End for June. Normally i take the road route with canal routes etc. My plan was to cycle across to Bettyhill and down to Loch Naver for the first wild camp. But now looking at your first day, those gravel tracks looks great. With your knowledge could a 700c 30mm tire travel the route from JOG to Loch Naver using the GB Divide?

I can't imagine doing stuff like this in the winter/early spring, and especially wild camping: did Lejog last august, and even then it was cold and windy up north.

@@KeepSmilingAdventures kuddo's for having those abilities. I'd die: in winter I wear 2 pairs of overshoes, a pair of socks over my shoes and two pairs of of gloves. If i come home from a bikeride in temperatures below 6 celcius, my toes are red and blue and hurt when bloodflow commences, let alone being outdoors all night.

Hi Geoff, The first 100 miles are mostly quiet roads with a little bit of gravel roads too, There was the odd car but not very often. The next 100 miles is mostly off road and traffic free, There are a couple road sections, some of which are actually traffic free, the busiest part was probably coming out of Contin.
