That. Was. Awesome. You know when people hit the smallest bump in the road or obstacle and they put on dramatic music and make a big deal out of nothing and it just pisses you off? This was the opposite. It was understated, and beautifully filmed. And Scored, the music was so good. What a ride, what a film, thank you 🙂

That comment made me want to watch this. So many BBC nature documentaries in the U.K are filmed in an in-your-face bombastic style, presumably to appeal to an American audience (previously I only saw this style on American nature documentaries). Everything, every small moment, every explanation has to be like an action film.

That was the best bicycle touring film I have ever seen. The choice of music, the drone shots, the editing were all amazing. The kindness of fellow humans was on display as in most touring documentaries. But what I liked the most was the companionship of the two Finnish cyclists. While I am sure there were issues between the two at times, they genuinely seemed to appreciate each others company. The two riders were always open to the adventures that lay before them. There was an ease to their travel. They did not seem to care about time. This was two young men, in the prime of their lives, DOING what most of us have only dreamed of.

Oh brother, where to start. 8 years ago I've cycled from Europe to Asia, Bangkok being my destination. You have encapsulated pretty much everything of what such trip does to oneself. From highest highs, when you feel like the One with the Universe, to the lowest lows when you're sick and tired and want to quit. It's a beautiful story of what living is about, the human nature, and possibly of what the purpose of our lives is, which is to explore. Although the views during such trip are jaw-droppingly beautiful and magnicifent, I found human interaction, kindness, humbleness, and open heart to be the most special/sacred experience along such journey. Don't believe the news; good people are everywhere and people want to be good. I thank you for something I haven't captured myself. It brought tears of joy on my face as I recalled my own experience, which feels to me like it was a year ago. I'm curious to see how you return back to society, to a "normal" living... the next chapter awaits. All the best. Namaste. Michal Kowal
@Monnnieee6 ай бұрын
it's interesting to read this. Last year I've hiked the PCT (from Mexico to Canada) and it's crazy how you use the exact same words I would use to describe that experience. I expected the nature to leave the biggest impression on me, but it was the people instead. Good to know that there are more people out there who understand this feeling. I believe that is the hardest part of going back into 'society', other not understanding the insane beauty and challenge of such a journey. Peace, Robert

Thank u for this amazing film! So well scored! I hope it goes viral. In the 1980's I did a solo, self-contained world cycling trip, and your film took me back to those amazing, indescribable feelings that the long distance cycle tourist lives out on a day to day basis! (I also hiked the Anapurna circuit.) I started my tour by dipping my rear tire in the Pacific ocean in Oregon, then 7,500km later dipping my front tire in the Atlantic in Boston, Massachusetts. I then flew to Brussels and rode to Nordkapp, then took a ferry to Scotland and continued on down to Madrid for a total of 8,000km in Europe. Then I decided to get serious so I flew to Alaska and pedaled to Tierra del Fuego!, which took 21 months and was another 30,000km. I rode down the east coast of South America through Brazil, and was met with amazing hospitality in every country I passed through. You guys are very talented film makers and drone pilots, and I hope u do another bike trip and make another film soon.

I really appreciated the realism of this video. A lot of KZbin videos seem to be “by any means necessary” and sometimes a bit arrogant in their choices. The way that you guys took advice from locals, recognized when you were sick and just needed some rest, adapted to border challenges, etc really made it feel like a realistic account of two guys winging it. Fantastic work PS I really loved the “clean edit” subtitles when you guys said some more interesting words 😂

Although I am 80 years old, last year I biked with my ICE SPRINT FS Trike + Ziflex Monowheel Trailer in tow (NO EL Assist) from Ebeltoft (Jutland-Denmark) over Gothenburg-Stockholm to Turku-Helsinki (stayed 2 weeks at Rastila Camping) and back to Stockholm, further along the east coast to Gotland-Ystad-Bornholm (DK)-Køge-Lolland-Falster-Ærø and back to Ebeltoft. Enjoyed very much the stretch Turku- Helsinki and being 8 weeks in Finland. Your positive attitude toward overcoming the encountered hurdles and spirited good humour gives the video many rays of sunshine, even when sometimes the rain was pouring down. All the best.

Best thing I ever did was jump out of college after two semesters and going on my own adventure. I wasn't feeling the college education at all. I did an internship and experienced what it would have been like to work as an engineer in corporate America and I just decided that it wasn't for me. I left college despite everyone telling me that it was a stupid thing to do. I enlisted in the merchant marines, jumped on a container ship in Norfolk and the rest is history. After two months onboard I had enough cash to jump off in China and go on my own adventure. I raced cars with some Russian gangsters down the streets of Vladivostok, I partied with geishas in Japan, I did modeling in Vietnam, I worked as a SCUBA instructor in Thailand, I spent a year just going from island to island in Indonesia far away from civilization fishing and eating coconuts with an Australian girl. The best choice I ever made was leaving college behind. Some people live but are never truly alive. I don't want any of the things that my friends who continued on with college and are doing the corporate gig have. I listen to their stories and it just sounds so dreary. It's been 16 years since I decided to ditch college and go experience life. I have no regrets.

Insurance companies hire me to investigate fraud by shipping companies. I have been contacted to be involved with negotiating with Nigerian pirates etc. I still get sent to very interesting locations where I'm the only white man in a hundred mile radius. So yes - my life is still considerably different compared to any of my friends from high school and I'm happy for it.

Glad you loved Romania, my home country and yep, unfortunately more and more bears have been seen in recent years, however I'm glad the cars were able to help you get through safely. I've been flirting with the idea of pedaling such long distances for a long time, but now I'm actually feeling more inspired to start planning a trip eventually. Keep up the good work, and the documentation is really nice, fun, inspirational, it makes you wanna be there with you guys along the journey! 😊

Well done! Great job, both the cycling and the docu! :)
