Great video around some of my local roads -Woodhall/Wolds. Everybody equates Lincolnshire with The Fens unfortunately!

Great route mate! Nice and varied. The church with the donations, on the South Downs Way I happened across one.... kettle with tea bags/coffee, chocolate bars and crisps! They had a card machine next to the traditional donations slot to make your preferred donation. Really convenient and picturesque to sit in the graveyard and munch away..... Happy pedaling 🤘

Posh church - even has it's own card machine!

Thanks for the 2 swiss francs =) Definitely going to do more of the camera talky bits - worth taking the extra time I think.

There can't be many roads or trails round there that you won't have ridden on soon. Some great footage too , especially with the drone 👍

First time viewer. Really enjoyed watching this video. It took me back to 2013 when I ran the Viking Way. The area around Belchford that you mentioned, was stunning. It's got my juices flowing to go and explore the tracks I didn't recognise. Oh and Middlegate Lane is just fab! Great video. Thanks. Ian

Welcome aboard! Yeah I do love going up on Middlegate Lane, its so peaceful and some great views =)

Found your channel by chance a couple of weeks ago and didn’t realise you were a Lincolnshire lad. I’m from Boston- so good to see lanes I know well on your route but also loads of places I’ve yet to try.

Nice one mate, my local trails. Not technical, but lovely... 👍🏼
@BikepackingAdventures2 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching. Yeah nothing is especially technical in the Wolds right?! Can be annoying at times and slow going at some times of year, but nothing really I'd call technical.

A very good video Richard, and what you call bike packing is what I call cycle touring in old money. The ultimate thing to be able to do is a wild camp with a bike or on foot and I have done both. A great experience it is to have time away in nature without to much cost apart from the initial outlays like a reliable stove, and weather protection of some sort, what more does anybody need ? 👏👋
@BikepackingAdventures2 ай бұрын
Well said! Yeah I love the simplicity of it and like you say it doesn't cost a lot of either. Just a few snacks and a bit of food and water and happy as larry.

Great video Richard love the way you put this one together the shot with the the drone whilst you was narrating was pretty cool. It was great to see you doing Lincolnshire and the Wolds I’m from Manby just outside Louth and too can vouch for it not being flat. Keep up the good work and I will look forward to the next one and hope cross paths with you one day 👍
@BikepackingAdventures2 ай бұрын
Yeah I need to more of the drone and narration shoes, it adds some depth to the video! I'll have to a mega bikepacking trip in the Lincolnshire Wolds on the MTB before the Summer drains out - this one I was trying out a few new trails. I'll bring it altogether at some point!

I know many of the places you rode in this video. I have not ridden the spa trail yet tho. I hope to make that happen next year.
@BikepackingAdventures2 ай бұрын
The Spa Trail is a short section of the much longer Viking Trail that begins at the Humber and runs down to Oakham. The surface is mostly okay if your on wider tyres, it's popular with both walkers and dog walkers. Didn't mention in video, but in Woodhall Spa you can find a free water tap inside the Sainsbury supermarket =)

Terrific viewing Richard. It's been far too long since I've been in those magnificent Wolds. This has been a proverbial kick up the jacksy. Lincolnshire Wolds are in my home County too, they are calling me again. Thanks for the inspiration mate.

Cracking video Richard! Silly question... did you actually sleep on that bench, in the bivvy?
@BikepackingAdventures2 ай бұрын
Hey Pete. Nah it was very narrow, ground sheet and mat on the grass etc. Deep grass where I stuck the bike so only way to get bike out would be to go over me 😅

Churches often have outside taps. The Wolds geological rock goes all the way to Dorset. The MacMillian Way path tries to follow it. So as long as one has a route close to that it should be a Wolds 'sea to sea' from Dorset to Humber.
@BikepackingAdventures2 ай бұрын
Found a couple of Churches in the Wolds (and elsewhere!) I often rely on them if I ever find myself dry! Found a few fair back in 2020.

Have a question Richard (love the videos btw) why are you not using the hydration pack? im using it currently and it isn't staying cold and i end up drinking warm water, I wander if you have the same issue? thanks
@BikepackingAdventures2 ай бұрын
Hi Mark, I tend to use the same instead for a rain jacket and clothing. If I go somewhere remote like e.g. Yorkshire Dales I'll use a bladder; more often than not there is shops around. As for warm water, combination of warm weather and all that exercise gonna heat the water up.
