The 4th and final episode.
The 3 of us are finally back together for another epic adventure.
In this series we are riding the Munda Biddi Trail in Western Australia.
After Flying into Perth we make our way to Mundarring (the official start of the Munda Biddi) and dive into the unknown... soon finding the track conditions are tougher than expected.

Thanks guys, love your videos, being a new fatbiker in last 12months myself and done a few of multi day trips and shit loads of big day trips now, my race bike gets very little use now. Fatbike for life now. Got our team of 3 fat bikers here too and one of us set up as single speed, Keep it up. Loving what you offer.

Fantastic series. Great to see you guys enjoying the adventure so much. I am going to ride the MB this June and walked the Bibbulmun last year in winter so I know how cold it can get (and wet last year) but I prefer that to the heat and bugs. I'll be a lot slower than you though. Really looking forward to it - the track looks like a lot of fun.

I stopped at that bakery for about 15 minutes to smash a pie, caramel slice, choc milk, gatorade, fill my botttle and then race for Albany :D Noticing my cable fraying about 50km before Denmark, was down to two strands for the rear derailleur by the time I reached there :| Monkey Rock Bicycles saved me out of hours. I remember being briefly confused about where to go, where you found the pup; would have loved to get a pat in!

Hey guys, I’ve been looking at purchasing a fat bike to do the Munda Biddi E2E as well. I have enjoyed your videos and found them very helpful. Based on your experience do you think having a suspension fork would be beneficial? I’ve been looking at the Canyon Dude CF 8.0 Trail as well as a few others with rigid forks.

Hi jack, I think having a suspension fork would be nice for the rougher sections but by no means necessary. It also depends on whether you want to carry gear on the forks. It's much easier to attach an anything cage to a rigid fork, which often already have the mounting points. It also depends on your style of riding. If you like bombing down rough sections flat out, then definitely go the suspension fork. Otherwise, we had no trouble with our rigid forks and still had plenty of fun. I hope that helps. Cheers, Matt

I'd recommend checking out the new 2020 Norco bigfoot 2. Great value and has lots of mounting points. Only thing I would change is the tyres. It comes with snow tyres which are most likely pretty slow rolling.

What kind of mount on the fork you have on one of the fatbikes? time 2.42

I used a piece of 10mm thick alloy, tapped 3 holes in it and taped it on to the fork with electrical tape. They've been on there for a few years now and are still going strong. Have even carried 2L of water on each side!

Hey guys serious question. Were you tubeless and did you have any dramas? I currently have JJ4.8s and have found them less then durable. I think I'm going to switch to the Maxxis Minion FBF and FBR
@FatTraction
@FatTraction 5 жыл бұрын
I am running tubeless, the other 2 were running tubes. None of us got any flats. All running snakeskin jumbo Jim's. I've heard really good things about the minion FBF and FBR and I might try them out myself soon but it's hard to go past JJs for bikepacking as they just roll so well. I've done close to 10,000kms on jumbo Jim's and only ever had 1 flat! What tyre pressures are you running?

@@FatTraction running around 15psi due to being a Clyde
@FatTraction
@FatTraction 5 жыл бұрын
@@klappers1 maybe try a bit lower. I never run more than 12psi and that's loaded with gear and on the bitumen. I find the JJs work well at about 8-10psi on hardpack trails. And about 5-6psi on sand. JJs are a very thin/supple tyre so even 1 psi change can make a huge difference.
@FatTraction
@FatTraction 5 жыл бұрын
@@klappers1 also if you decide to try out the maxxis minions. Ive heard a few people running the FBF on the front and rear. Sacrificing a little bit of rear wheel grip for better rolling resistance. I'm pretty confident that even the FBF would have much more grip than a JJ. The knobs are massive in comparison.
@klappers1
@klappers1 5 жыл бұрын
@@FatTraction thanks for the feedback. I'm in two minds because the JJs do roll well
