Great video! We're doing the OGR in a day in late November, then driving to the heaphy and doing that in a day too. Should be fun.

Sorry thought I had replied to you, sounds like a great adventure and i am sure that you know the Heaphy is closed to bikers at the end of Nov for the season.

I so want to ride this trail. Unsure if the ebike could make it on one battery.

Hi Lance. Touch and go I reckon. Someone said that they rode it on a Levo SL and used the battery extender to 50%. The steps will be a bit tougher to get down with an ebike (Day 2 tomorrow’s video).

Hey Jase great video. My partner and I are about to embark on the Ghost Rd over 4 days, so as we consider the logistics, I'm just curious as to how you managed all your gear? It seemed like you carried everything with you. My concern is being overburdened with everything. Your back packs look really small, so I'm wondering if you had your food transported in there for you in advance? I notice that the huts are kitted out well enough whereby you don't need to carry cooking equipment, cutlery and utensils, so that's something. Thanks for any advise you can offer us.

Hi Nigel. Thanks! We did it in 1 night and 2 days so didn't need a huge amount of food and what we had was from freeze dried outdoor equipement stores with a few added luxeries. There is also water at plenty of locations on the way and we didn't require any cooking equipment as the huts were fully stocked. We hired our sleeping bags from Buller Adventures who also relocated the car. They had a lock box at Ghost Hut at half way so we didnt need to carry them. Maybe ontact them to see if they have bags at each hut and then you can just take a liner.

@@jaselikesbikes Hey Jase that's great advise. I've already organised the vehicle relocation through Buller Adventures, so definitely worth chasing them up re sleeping bags. thanks so much for replying👍🙏
