Bikepacking The Peru great divide (part 1)

Amazing! One question: I just started the Peru divide from Huaraz a week ago this October. Did you take special preparation for lightning storms? I can deal with heavy rain, snow or hailstorms. But lightning at 4800m pases are something from another world!

Nice , Enjoy the ride!! about Lighting storms they are pretty scared. I always started cycling as early as possible 06:00 So I will be over de mountain pas before noon before the lighting started in the midday. Sometimes lighting striked very close and I kept cycling hoping for the best. But better to get off your bike and other metal equipment and shelter on your heels under your poncho/raincoat. Enjoy!
