I first started following you when I saw you in a video riding with Darren Alff. I liked your calm demeanor and your love of bicycle touring. I just wanted to say that you have come a long ways! Every video you make seems to be better than the last one. I am thoroughly enjoying them. Keep up the good work.

Mike your photography skills are excellent and so are your voice overs. This part of the world is heaven on earth, you are fortunate to be able to bike through such a place.

Exceptional photo- and cinematography ❣ The Midnightsun was at the lowest over the municipality where I was born and grew up, Bø i Vesterålen. The Fairytale Municipality. A hidden GEM, and extremely calm compared to buzy Lofoten. We in the Vesterålen Islands, rarely venture to Lofoten during summer tourist season ;) Great that youi enjoyed our little paradise; The Arctic LoVe Islands 🥰🥰

Many thanks again Mike. In your response to me in the comments on your last video you mentioned that you have found a nice for at to work with - you are certainly right. The mix of great scenery, shown by great photography and videography, and your comments that include interesting information, works very well. Regards. Phill 😅

More spectacular scenery, it just gets better and better. I imagine having used lots of energy cycling being able to sleep with the sun out isn't a problem. Thanks for sharing, I look forward to the next episode.

what stunning scenery, I will definitively go there, it is so beautiful, that nature, the sea, the mountains I love it, thanks for sharing these videos. And yes water is often a problem when cycling, and if you take a lot it is heavy so saving and fill up as soon as it's possible is the thing to do.

Hi Mike, thanks for another fantastic video of a once-in-a-lifetime tour. It would be great if you can make a video about your bar-end gear shifting system and its benefits for a touring setup. Thanks!

Thanks for a super video! I've been there by car a couple of years ago and wondered that Lofoten would make a great bikepacking destination. This video gave me a confirmation on that. Trip would require a bit of planning since I should travel there from Southern Finland, but seems quite manageable!

Is it typical in Norge to not have a shoulder on the road to ride on? Does it make it harder or less safe to ride on such roads? Spectacular views.
@BikeTouringMike
@BikeTouringMike Жыл бұрын
I think the reason for the roads being this narrow without any shoulders is 1.) the roads are very old, some of them are based on roads made way before the introduction of cars. 2.) it's very expensive to widen the roads due to the difficult terrain and all the surrounding water. The good thing about the roads being this narrow and winding is that it keeps the speed of the cars down. There are larger roads with a wide shoulder, such as the E6 highway, that you'll see in future videos. But I gotta say I felt a lot safer on these narrow roads with no shoulder than I did on the parts of the E6 highway I had to ride.

Hi Mike, I see you've gone back to 4 panniers. Is there any reason you're not using the 2 X pro plus panniers?Asking as I'm about to buy panniers and would love your thoughts. Cheers
@BikeTouringMike
@BikeTouringMike Жыл бұрын
Hi Barry! The reason is as simple as I wasn't able to fit everything I needed in 2 pro plus panniers. I needed to bring some more warm clothes and a warmer sleeping bag this time around. That's why I decided to go for the 4 pannier setup.
