Great bike, modern colour scheme. But in general I'm not so sure about high positioned rear shock cause of the bike's higher centre of mass. BTW I am a bit confused about UK, which is on an Island (therefore isolated). I live in Austria, and next Monday we are going to gym's again. Schools and malls already work. Greetings from Austria👋🙂

@@tristandesade8635 Harsh to rub it in. Which country -- Austria or UK -- has the largest aviation hub in the world? Plus UK has 2.5x population density. That said, the leader is pretty dense too. It's too bad good people have to deal with bad political decisions.

The SE looks nice - it would be good to see a comparison between this and the Kona HeiHei in a future test. I like the fact that more and more XC Marathon, Down Country bikes are hitting the market at the moment. It will be interesting to see what future this type of bike has in the UK market where, lets face it, people usually ride up and down the hill.

Interested to see how these XC/Downcountry bikes will compare to what is put on offer from Scott/Specialized/Orbea/Yeti/Etc. From what I see, I would have expected better cable management system (looks rattlely) and assuming they are still using plastic lockout lever from fox? Pricing/weight looks comparable anyway, hopefully good things to hear from the long term review, Cheers!

Just got the se 1 and yes the 34 tooth chain ring maybe a tad to big for steeper climbs . 32 or even 30 maybe more appropriate . I think they wanted to keep the manufacturing process as similar as they can between the 2 versions but for the SE version they should have went with the smaller ring and I will downsize eventually

Yes, it does still have the Cannondale AI (Asymmetric Integration) back end which you can read more about in Tom's article here: www.bikeradar.com/news/new-cannondale-scalpel/
@jessvarey25974 жыл бұрын
It's a 'weird dish' but it'd only 3mm, and it means you can get bigger tyres in with a much shorter chain stay, meaning it's fast and whippy. I like that. :)

It's not the rider weight that's the difference between an S and XL rider. It's the CoG height which impacts the antisquat values. With the same suspension geometry a shorter rider will have more effective antusquat than a taller rider. The 100 % antisquat value is defined by the CoG height.

Love Cannondale, always have... but; From my 2001 Cannondale F2000 ELO (Electronic Lock Out) Lefty, 2010 Cannondale Scalpel Carbon Team Replica, to my current 2015 Cannondale Trigger Carbon 2; All the Lefty's pulled to one side or another severly. Could never ride hands free for even 2 seconds!! Cannondale claimed it should ride just straight but that never happened...so for that reason alone I want to switch to a non-lefty bike! If anyone has a solution, please comment...

Nice bike, but good luck if you need support from Cannondale. Have been riding Cannondales since 1999. Now have a 2018 Scalpel Carbon 3. Rear hub failed in March. Have been trying to get parts support from Cannondale since. No response, and when they did response the information was wrong. Sad state of once iconic US bike company.

Beware: Read Cannondale’s fine print in their Limited Warranty Policy. They may use it against you for their best interest. My $5000.000 carbon fiber frame Jekyll broke after six years of use. Cannondale never made a finding that it was due to use or abuse. A hairline crack formed at a weak point in the frame. The bike was sold to me with a lifetime warranty on the frame. The best offer Cannondale gave me, under their lifetime warranty, was 20% off of retail - yes, that is right 20% off of retail. I fought them on it over a two month period and lost. So, I am now stuck with a 34lb paperweight. Cannondale has what I feel is the worse warranty in the bike business. If you do purchase a Cannondale bike and something goes wrong, know that they probably will not work with you at any level in your best interest. In my opinion, they do do not value you as a customer, they only value your money. This has been my experience.

I see Cannondale is still committed to the Lefty fork on their high end bikes. It may be a good fork and has its benefits, but it’s just so awkward and weird looking. I can say this: including myself, none of my riding buddies won’t buy Cannondale for this reason. I think they are sacrificing sales because of this. Rock Shox and Fox are practically industry standards for a reason.
