@davemoody92637 ай бұрын
Yeah, that overtake by the white car at 9:15 looked pretty legitimate from here. Unless the camera is distorting the amount of space and making the road seem wider than it actually is (some cameras do that), that white car looked like they had plenty of room to be where they were. It almost looks like the road was 2 lanes wide up to the bridge and then bottlenecks, and the rider found that he had to move to the right (where the white car was when it passed) in order to be in the correct position to go through it, so if anything, it seems like the white care was the one positioned correctly in the lane and the bike was not. Compare that to 9:21 where the bike tries to re-claim his position in front of the white car, and this does not look like an appropriate overtake. There looks to be much less room, making it a much more dangerous maneuver than what the white car did earlier, so now I'm losing any sympathy for the bike I might have had otherwise. After that, his constant turning around to jabber-jaw at the driver and not looking where he was going just confirms that he cares more about his ego than any sense of safety.

Everyone except Einstein here.

Exactly. The Highway Code says do not overtake at junctions, and it's for a very good reason. In this case, the car had been braking for some time and the bike should have waited until after the junction to consider overtaking. I think the panic was that there was a second corner straight after the first one, and it caught him by surprise. If you watch the original clip, it looks like he was trying to keep up with his buddies who were way off in the distance. That's also a bad idea. Ahhh another biker clown show. Here is a hint from a car driver and biker. First of all. If your speed is radically faster than the current flow of traffic. Cars or truck drivers will not see you at all. When car drivers are looking to change lanes. They do a head check. NOT turn 180 degrees and really look for 3 to 6 seconds to see where traffic IS and what the speed difference is. They are taking a snapshot from what is going on for .5 of a second. Not only that. You need to realize that drivers are looking into a mirror. You are already a small object. You blend in with other traffic and vehicles. Even if the driver was looking right at you. But you are even smaller in a mirror. Oh and lane splitters. Fun fact. The law is that the vehicle driver can't block you. But that doesn't mean they have to make room for you. So if they want to ride 2 cm off the center line. That is perfectly legal. So with that and the above. You might want to give the average vehicle driver a little slack. 99% are not out to get you.

Did you deserve 5 citations YES! and to have your bike towed and and an UBER called! And Yes 99.9% of police are nice when your nice to them!
@Lilith-Rose7 ай бұрын
Exactly, what would have been even cooler is if bikers followed the law, then they'd get zero citations
@mhoeij7 ай бұрын
Unfortunately, this rider was literally asking to be cited for a serious offense. The rider TELLS the officer that his license is expired!!!

7:38 you've got a public transport licence? Or why tf are you using a bus lane?
@FatBiscuitYT7 ай бұрын
Because in London, bus lanes are shared with Taxis, Cyclists and depending on the day and the time, motorcyclists too. In this case, motorcyclists can use it at "all times" as shown by the sign with the motorcycle icon in it. You're welcome.

5:45 yeah, clearly a suprise after about 5 cars in the front pulled the exact same move aka following the flow of traffic. sure, it's technicly a driver error but imo a rider splitting lanes like that in moving traffic should look maybe a little past th ecar just in front

Almost all situations in this video are caused by bad driving skills (too fast on unknown roads) or biker's decisions to overtake by right side of the vehicle in motion. Car drivers are also guilty for many, many situations, but...with a lower speed anything is easier.

Just to add to your comment, apparently patience is a lost art, which gets a fair amount of them in trouble. They ride like their life is dependent on it.
