Simple Idea: If your motor can handle higher voltage, do it. Also, swap out those SLA batteries for a (hopefully higher voltage) lithium battery and use your existing motor. Think of it in terms of the way jumper batteries come with different levels of cranking amps. Higher amperage = more hell yeah!

higher voltage is more speed. any motor can comfortably use 12 volts more than it says. i can describe it like this. motor Watts: torque motor rpm: max speed {also depends on tire size} battery voltage: speed discharge amphs: allows more electricity to motor so more speed battery capacity amphs: how long you can ride. i have a crazy cart xl with a 48v 25ah capacity battery a 48v controller and a 1000W 36v motor. in my opinion its better to overvolt a 36v motor than use a 48v motor. max speed is around 35kmh

Strip the battery/electronics out, light it on fire, and sail it over a cliff as fast as you can. Maybe setup a pully system where a rope pulls the ATV with a truck. The pulley makes it possible, so the truck is headed away from the cliff. Oh, and anyone who needs Bespoke Post items needs to get out a bit more. So this will also help you get out some more. Good luck, and be safe!

Electric quads aren't inherently a bad idea. Firstly there are a lot of uses for quads in places where you don't expect to go too far like farms, golf courses etc. But yeah that's probably not the main usage area for them. Secondly I think there is a lot of potential in electric tech and in a decade or two we might have quads that can do all the stuff of gas quads today but without using petrol.

I bought a 500$ electric scooter off ebay to get to and from work.. (dont judge me, its what i could afford. this pandemic hasnt been easy for me or my family).. It is 48v 1600 watts.. On amazon for 300$ or from ebay for 175$ you can get a 72v (84v when fully charged) 3000watt, 65 amp controller and motor combo.. I'm actually awaiting delivery of the new batteries right now to build a 72v lithium battery pack so i can finally install the new controller and finally have this thing faster.. At least yours had a wire to disconnect to make it faster. My stock speed is 21 mph at full throttle and theres no way to make it faster.. So im very much looking forward to the upgrade.. I say all that to say this: You guys can make that thing amazing. There is room for massive motors and massive controllers and an enormous battery. You could have that thing competing with small gas quads for relatively cheap.. a few hundred bucks and 10X the performance.

Upgrade it! That motor looks pretty capable, the limiting factors will most likely be battery and controller. I'd recommend at least a 72v battery, as well as a 100A controller (ebay style). Youd have a blast with the improved acceleration, plus the speed would be nearly double!

Quads are made for a lot more than what you listed. If it was properly made, an electric atv on a farm, even with just a 10 mile range, would be amazingly useful. Haul a trailer with feed, moving logs to a small saw mill, moving chicken tractors, hay, firewood etc. I wouldnt be driving an EV quad for more than an hour a day, I'd be too busy getting off an on dealing with what ever I was moving. Fewer parts to break, cheaper to run, can charge off solar panels or grid, don't have to worry about draining the tank for storage or stale fuel, no oil changes etc. You're really underselling how useful something like this could be if it wasnt a hunk of junk. My Chevy Volt costs me about 1.5c per mile to drive, including maintence.y wife's Honda Fit (at 35mpg and $4 a gallon) costs nearly 10x that per mile. No, an EV quad probably isnt going to be a great choice for trying to drive deep into the woods and haul out a moose. But you overlooked a huge chunk of situations where they are a far better choice...if they are made right.

Take the motor from a Cushman cart motor 48v 8hp 5965 watts and see if you can get more pony juice out of it. (Used 4 car batteries. I don't know tow them in a trailer. you could get 8 batties to push it then) 1 battery and 1500w seems a little lacking. And fix that frame by extending and straightening it so you don't lose the twins on a jump. No outchy = Happy you and Happy wife!

I bet you could get 2 80v Greenworks batteries and a better controller to fit in that and that thing could be a lot of fun, if not then a motor upgrade is needed which should be as easy as removing the old one and bolting a new motor to the rear axle housing.
@AntonioTavares
@AntonioTavares Жыл бұрын
If I was @BikesandBeards, I would just try to fix the rear axle in a mecanic, and maybe then just sell. You want fun, but that is just an utility vehicle for short people - let's say it - kids!

We bought a Kayo bull 150cc atv. I have never experienced such a piece of Chinese crap to that extent in my life. Once I saw it looked like a rip off Yamaha, I knew it would be bad. I got a Honda rancher 2013 420cc with powered steering, fuel injection and a digital display for the exact same price. That Honda could sit for years and still start like noting ever happened. I'm genuinely shocked these Chinese ATVs are still sold. That Honda is still running strong, not a single breakdown in it's 7 years of service.

We got a Damak Beast several years ago. One year of good use, working on small farm, fixing trails. After that intermittent performance. Started to need daily charging, and I drive it a few minutes a day. Finally but the dust. There is NO service manual. Customer service was no help. They said to get service at any ebike shop. But the ones I called said they do not service Chinese products. Damak is Chinese, not Canadian as they claim. Do not buy Damak!

For more expensive all-electric quads, Daymak makes a couple of really nice models. Upwards of $10k though, but you get what you pay for.

We have had severe problems with our Damak Beast. Local EV repairmen won't touch Chinese ATVs and there is no such thing as a service manual. Customer service was no help. Authorized Damak serviceman confirmed there are no manuals, they are hard to fix, and most get junked .

It does make sense. Countryside will mean more and more having solar and wind energy by oneself, and so will every neighbor. Charging stations will only be for long range travel, or commuting (charging at the workplace parking lot).

bro, as a Chinese who has been doing international trade for years and also loves bikes, I can tell you that you got ripped off hard, that thing should cost no more than $1000 including shipping. and by the way that's definitely not adult size🤣 in China those bikes were put in beach parks for kids to ride, usually $1.5-2 for 10 minutes ride
@currst

How much money would the actual adult size cost?
@michaellin2493
@michaellin2493 3 жыл бұрын
@@currst you can get a really good one for $2000. Motorcycle and electric bikes are some of the most important transportations in China, because many cities will limit the number of cars on road to control traffic. So you can find many decent bikes here for really cheap.
