I worked for a towing company back in the 80s. On the highway, bored, I keyed the ignition off then turned it back on getting a moderate POP. I experimented and 10 seconds was ideal. It sounded like a .38 going off and there was a fair fireball out the exhaust. I'd do this going down the highway and timed key on for when I went under an overpass. That was spectacularly loud. I made the mistake of telling a couple bozos who also worked there about it. One of them experimented with longer and longer intervals and promptly blew the muffler and tailpipe off his truck.

Fun facts: the loudest sound ever recorded was the Krakatoa volcanic eruption in 1883, measured at 180dB, which was heard over 3000 miles away. 194dB is the loudest sustained sound physically possible (anything over that would be a shock wave (sonic boom)) and your head would literally explode when exposed to around 240dB.

The Moto Loot helmet cover does pretty much everything they say it does. I have a red one and people love it. Can’t really comment about the social media part, but I’ve had my picture taken a few times. There are downsides to it, like limited use of your visor and wind drag(starts to pull back around 45 or 50mph). One thing that I didn’t read anywhere was about safety. I never got cut off or had someone merge on me while wearing the cover. I guess everyone loves Elmo 😊
@jakegarrett8109

I've got one too, probably had 300 comments on it within 2-3 months, everyone loves it (everyone from grandparents to toddlers, everyone thinks its fun!). I've had several people borrow my helmet for photos and I too have noticed far more people seem to see you, its just so different that cognitively their brain goes from "I don't see a car, so there must be nothing" to "what was that!?!". I have the viking one with the horns, so it really jumps out in profile and you can see it way off at night and the silhouette makes it highly visible to other people even if I have a cars headlights behind me. Its also protected the finish on my helmet when I was practicing low speed figure 8's finding the max lean angle with my feet up over the handle bars in a parking lot (visor got a little scratched up, but where the cover is it didn't even leave a scratch). It does make it much warmer, so good for winter/fall and a bit hot for summer but I'm near the coast so its not that bad in summer (wouldn't wear it in Texas summer though). Mine stays on pretty well, I'm always doing about 70-73 mph even on twisty roads so at least for those speeds I haven't had it move around much unless you're lifting the visor up, but the wind drag certainly is real and you're neck will get a bit stronger with it, lol, feels about like 20 mph faster wind speeds for just your head, but its fun.

@@RetroJohnny420-gaming it covers all vents, but, at least in my case, I don’t feel any hotter than usual. My cover doesn’t have that gold, inner liner, which I’m guessing makes it a bit thinner. When I close my visor, it always “bites” the lower part of the mouth, not allowing the visor to fully seal and so some air can pass between the visor and fur. Well, at least that’s the excuse I can come up with. Also, there’s no wind noise.

It's been a long time since I was there so I get nothing from pimping them, but if you are looking for alternative to HD air suspension they are the place to go. The reason you might want to go up and down is if you are a short guy, I've known people that used air so they could dump the bike down at stop lights and not have to be on tip toes.

Fun fact I found on the interwebs: Strictly speaking, the loudest possible sound in air, is 194 dB. The “loudness” of the sound is dictated by how large the amplitude of the waves is compared to ambient air pressure. A sound of 194 dB has a pressure deviation of 101.325 kPa, which is ambient pressure at sea level, at 0 degrees Celsius (32 Fahrenheit). Essentially, at 194 dB, the waves are creating a complete vacuum between themselves. You can go louder than 194 dB, but that’s not technically a “sound” anymore. The extra energy starts distorting the entire wave, and you end up with something that’s more a shockwave and less a soundwave. At that level, sounds don’t pass through air - they push the air along, producing pressurized burst (shockwaves). But for the sake of the argument (and because let’s face it, no one wants to be overly pedantic), we will consider anything over 194 dB as sounds - just know that that’s not an exact phrasing.

117 dB is pretty loud. Sounds between 170-200 dB are so intense that they can cause lethal issues like pulmonary embolisms, pulmonary contusions, or even burst lungs. The fact that anyone would buy a horn advertised at 300 dB just shows we need natural selection to start taking it's course. 300 dB is not possible as a continuous sound in air because the maximum overpressure is double atmospheric, with the troughs a vacuum, which works out at 194 decibels.

With any cheap Chinese-made pneumatic product, be it train horns or air-ride kits, NEVER use the included teflon tape or even your favorite brand of teflon tape. Always use thread sealant for all threaded connections and you won't have to do more work going back to fix leaks. I learnt this the hard way on multiple installs, and my recommendation is either thread sealant or buy higher quality kits.

We use those muff pots for years to keep burritos and different finger foods warm for lunch while snowmobiling. Those things are awesome! Oh, and the frame is supposed to clamp, not the whole pot. That's why it has the pressure clips. Awesome product.

The reason why pairing 4 horns instead of 1 only increased from 110 to 130 is because decibel scale is not linear, it is logarithmic. For every mile you pass on your trip, for example, your distance traveled increases by a mile and total number is the addition of all the equally spaced miles traveled. But going from 60 to 80 dB and then going from 80 to 100 and then from 100 to 120 is not the same equal increment in the sound. It gets much much louder for every dB you increase. Exponentially louder. A normal conversation you have is 70 dB and a gunshot is 140 dB, just to give an example.

Cool Video. You guys inspired me to buy old Japanese bikes and fix them up. Picked up a clean Intruder for 700$ and got it running last month. Needed a battery and the "carb problem" was simply a tight throttle. Love this bike and feels like the best 700$ I've ever spent.

the flamethrower kit is great IF its installed correctly and IF the conditions are right. i had a good side hustle years back making these for people. i took the pre-distributor coil signal and put it through a relay that went to the coils in the rear. welded a bung into the exhaust pipe about 12" or so before the actual opening. the relay was on a momentary switch. getting it to light needed the exhaust to be hot. youd hold the throttle/pedal to the floor and use the momentary switch to modulate the rpm. on the rpm drop, there would be flames

6:57 yeah 300 decibels is incredibly loud. Krakatoa exploding (considered to be the loudest sound on the planet) was 310 Decibels. It blew out the eardrums of "over half" of a ships crew at 40 miles away. Decibels aren't a linear curve in loudness, so the difference from 120 to 300 is staggering. Sitting right next to a 300 decibel source would probably kill you...

For the flame thrower kit, you need to actually drill the spark plug into the exhaust, and you need to bring the rpms up while holding the button then let off, I had the same kit on my s10 and I got 14-16 inch flames out the exhaust.
