After watching too many modern technologically sound bikes i started to like these kind of retro/classic /cafe racer type of bikes. Hint of freeness, don't care type of wild raw attitude these machines have. Love that.

I likey that very much. I think we'll start seeing more W800 customs in the next few years.
@BikeShedMotoCo7 жыл бұрын
There's definitely a shortage of these. No idea why, it's such a good donor bike for a build, and the 800 is overlooked.

I’m in the process of building one of these - and need a bit of help. I’ve purchased the O3 sensor and the PAIR switch eliminators, could someone involved with the build tell me - what filters were used on throttle body? What did you do with the sensor that mounts directly into the air box? Did you relocate it or eliminate it?
@HappyWheelFan20133 жыл бұрын
That's where I'm at right now too. I have the build pretty far along and next I wanna do an intake with a Power Commander V, but I just don't know how to go about the single O2 sensor with dual throttle bodies. Maybe they make a splitter of some sort that will take 2 O2 inputs and give 1 average output reading to the ecu? This is my first road bike and build so it's been a learning process chopping mufflers and changing out various components with custom. But I want that giant airbox gone to shave some weight and make and easier path to remove the battery. I'll be making KZbin videos about the bike as well as my 3rd gen mz3 soon since their both so seldomly covered on the web as far as building goes

@luminiferousaether61517 жыл бұрын
Lovely bike. Is it me or does the back tyre seem out of proportion? I’d prefer it a little fatter. Also, the video either shows, or appears to show, an electrical/ ground fault in the middle of the engine. Check the little rapid flashing on start up.....
@BikeShedMotoCo7 жыл бұрын
Dutch wanted an authentic flat track look and they run near as dammit the same front and rear. The flashing is the hook-up to the Power Commander, saves lifting the seat to remap.

@BikeShedMotoCo7 жыл бұрын
Engine is stock, but open pipes and air filters, plus new map in the Power Commander (and 25kg weight loss) mean a much quicker bike. New cams would help.
@doncarlo57 жыл бұрын
25 kg is whole lotta weight saving ... nice looking bike , especially the 19 inch front and rear, for a real flat track feeling ... I guess it rides just fine on the flat track : )

@BikeShedMotoCo7 жыл бұрын
The bike runs really well with the power commander running the fuelling appropriately for the air filters and open pipes. What this bike actually needs is a new cam with a harsher profile and more overlap. Kawasaki made this engine a little too friendly.

@jiffjiffernson72926 жыл бұрын
Poseur is the correct term. Doesn't even mention the engine or it power delivery, character - or any ride character. Only a couple of these guys ride bikes and while the others shop for "buy now" fashion. Perhaps the engine-power is a trigger issue in a cafe -'racer'.

Thy can't these parallel twins including the modern Triumphs, Hondas etc even when fitted with aftermarket exhaust systems or cans have the booming sound of my 1970 T120, Commando or BSA twins. They sound awful.
@BikeShedMotoCo7 жыл бұрын
Usually true, but you should hear my Street Scrambler on open pipes. [Dutch]
@droceretik7 жыл бұрын
They don't sound awful. Beauty is in the ears of the beholder but the earlier British twins may sound a little better but it is a gross distortion to say these modern twins sound awful.
@nightster63787 жыл бұрын
Come on you obviously haven't stood beside a Bonnie on its side stand ticking over while it vibrates itself down the street, or on full song. Im not knocking the bike I like it and why I looked at the vid, I love the look of the engine since it was introduced, I just can't understand why they can't sound as good. I have an 07 Duc Hypermotard 1100S with Termignoni on it and it sounds crap too. Honda even tried to get one of their custom bikes to sound like a Harley.
@nightster63787 жыл бұрын
Aah come on Dutch its always true. You want to here my Trident T150 beside a modern Trident even with pipes. I like your bikes and styling and I would like to here your Street Scrambler though I assume Modern Triumph. I might post a vid of my Yamaha SC500 Flat Tracker when I get it finished, For the record I like these retro bikes, I like all bikes even my Quickly.
