Amazingly done... What viewers don't realise generally is the amount of time and effort it takes to capture everything on camera the way you guys were able to while also making sure that you're munching miles (literally). With such amazing running shots, windmills, farmlands and fuel-food stops, traffic & legal speeds - 20 hours is indeed really impressive.

Thoroughly enjoyed the ride along brother. Big distance, minimal stops = sore butt! We all get a sore ar*e eventually mate. Even on my Yamaha fjr1300 with a gel seat (very comfortable), my poor old butt lets me know if I have been riding for too long! In Australia, we certainly have some big distances to cover if we want to, and I prefer to limit myself to between 6-700kms per day. I'm getting older, thats the problem!!😂. Great channel mate, subscribed and looking forward to catching up with all of your previous videos. I will certainly be looking at the Meteor 650 when we get the bike into our dealerships in Oz. I'm 6'2, 108kgs with long legs, so the ergonomics could/may be a problem. We shall see. Stay safe mate.

I often drive 600 km/8-10 hr on my interceptor 650. I always felt I could do 300-400 km more. I don't listen to songs. I am in my zone when out on a trip on my inty 650. Probably me used to being on cycle saddle for 4-6 hrs helped in conditioning my lower back muscles. My mantra was 1. Use cycling tights without seams. 2. Wear pants without back pockets. 3. Ride for 55 min and stretch 5 min. 4. I carry a flask of tea as it removes the need to search for tea at lower speeds! This is suggestion of my better half. Driving for extended duration takes toll on your mind. Like he said. It should not be a quest to be achieved rather than enjoying the drive.

Thank you for a well presented, thoughtful and honest review. The Super meteor 650 is similar to my Moto Guzzi V9 Roamer which I haven't used for a long trip yet so the review was useful in that respect. To be honest, if I have a long trip to do I tend to favour my older Suzuki Burgman 650, which is a gem of a touring bike and very comfy.

I own a Royal Enfield 500, it does 80-100 kmph easily with the best in Class GRS Gas shock absorbers at the rear..and a touring seat. Super comfy at any kind of Indian road. Mild undulations, Bridge joints, speed breaker s, potholes, it swallows everything it goes thru. Ita highly stable at 90-100 . Gives me 30 kmph . Finally that traditional bass beat from the exhaust. Goosebumps.. So i decided not to exchange it to Super Meteor. I think putting a GRS at rear would be a game changer in terms of ride quality. And also replacing with powerful Halogens lights. LEDs are waste of money. Its a just a fancy product. It doesn't give you the depth of view. Its just bright when none comes in opposite direction.

A channel , doing auto journalism, and saying "Cruiser is meant to be comfortable on a long ride" ... that sum up the immature automobile atmosphere of India. Last thing you should be doing on a cruiser is "long distance touring".. sitting on your tail bone for 1000 kms and asking for comfort.. amazing!

Did Guwahati to Kolkata on Xpulse 200 4V in exactly 18hrs. I started from guwahati at 7:10 am and reached at 1:10 am. The entire ride was fun mostly maintained at 100 kmph speed, only the last 200km were excessively bad (100km to Krishnanagar and from there to Kolkata 100kms very dusty and very large potholes) also have taken the botol bari route which was quick in time but the roads were single lane and had animal disturbance. From Siliguri to Kolkata numerous numbers of barricades were very disturbing on the Assam part of the journey it was smooth but had frequent diversions.

Having aching back by the end of the trip is natural. Even we sit on our Sofa for 15 Hours straight, it is painful. We cannot fault the bike for this. The humongous distance of 1000kms was completed in Indian conditions with an Indian manufactured bike shows how good the Super Meteor 650 is. Use your bikes to ride 600kms in a day, then you will love Super Meteor650. Mind you, 600 Kms in no way is short to cover in a Single day. Excellent video btw, loved the details and efforts put in to present the experience so beautifully to the viewers. Cheers!!

Hey that’s the exact same helmet I have 😅 Ive done the NH4 multiple times and I know exactly the strech after Dharwad you’re talking about, it’s flat empty 6 lane and that’s awesome for just blazing past! The cruising speed of 90-100 is a bit too slow from my perspective, need a bike that can cruise comfortably at 120-130, that’ll make mile munching super easy.

What a coincidence ,Today I completed my 1080 km journey on Super Meteor from Hyderabad to Bhubaneswar . undulation part is accurate . Engine performance till 120 is good beyond that we can have vibration over handlebar and milage drops. But to cover this far we have to take a chance too. My problem was Fuel guess . It will not show low fuel if we turn off /restart on 2 bar of fuel meter . That was risky part . Rest others are already shared by you . 😊😊😊 Keep up good work.

Great job and nice pictures. An inspiring one too. 1000km is a long journey, and I am sure that you would have had back pain with many other bikes too. Your video verifies that the rear suspensions and the screen could be improved. I noticed for myself that the rear shocks are pretty stiff and could bring my limits quite quickly. (I am way older than you... :) ). You proved that this bike could do it mechanically and your trip makes me think to try a long one as well. With more breaks!. Maybe riding only 400/500km a day... Aside from that, I like the passion you put into this experience and the way you talk about it. Thumbs up for the pictures and the sound, and all the effort and planning to film it, doing your pieces to camera and everything... Sure it is a lot of work. What a day isn't it?

The 1000Km was a test of the bike and comfort which was very interesting but to be fair I don't think (unless in an emergency) you would actually do 1000Km all in one hit. I particularly liked the comment about cruising, "you do it to take in the scenery and enjoy the ride not to thrash the bike over a long distance" (I paraphrase there) and I totally agree. Well done and I will certainly be looking out for more of your vids.

Very good video. I'm eager to know how the Super Meteor fares against the Meteor. Except for the obvious 650 vs 350 engine and the accompanying power difference, how much better is the Super Meteor over the Meteor? Is the 2 lakh add-on a justified expenditure?

Hi Vyshak. The 650 is better on many fronts! The overall build quality, the brakes, the engine refinement, the handling, stability, gearbox, almost everything is several notches better. And of course, the much more imposing road presence. And although you already know this, the difference in engine performance itself is massive and justifies the hefty premium.

Nicely brought out. U did experience a tough journey though. Did u specifically restrict the speed to 80kmph? The bike does need lot of improvements. Keeping in mind the horrific traffic in Bangalore, How could you rip through Bangalore traffic is a mystery bcoz Bengaluru has the worst traffic conditions in the country. I hv lived there 56 years & traffic conditions are only going from worst to pathetic to hell. Anyway, the super meteor 650 needs a handlebar riser & 2 pairs of aux lights, where in GR40 (Gold Runway 40) is the best suited for indian bikes & road & traffic conditions. The crash guard can be fitted with highway pegs so that u can rest & stretch your legs. Rider back rest in your bike can be installed which gives a much need support for back. Also Pune has one excellent superbike accessories shop which can help u in this field. Bangalore too has a great guy Sandeep Dhaiya who fabricates the back rest as per your choice & personal requirements. Best wishes.

Although, I didn't particularly connect with the narration on the whole. For me, it felt like you were reading off a script that was originally intended for an article on your website. So, I as a viewer, didn't necessarily feel the emotions that you were trying to convey through the video. You could tone down the use of complex language and just naturally express how you felt while riding the machine. Never meant to be that guy, but I thought I'd mention it. Otherwise, great job with the video. Can't wait for more videos :D Edit: The writer in me had to express it out 😂

Beautiful bike. But cruiser bikes are not for India. We're just introducing Western style bikes to India. Problem is our roads are not in western quality. Cruiser needs miles and miles of nice road, free from potholes and speed breakers.

Alwar to birdwal 545 km. not a highway... With lots of challenges and in the mid summer of may on a peak temp of 48.6°c... I covered in 8hrs with 2 tea breaks of 15mins each and other lunch break of 30mins..... 5 years ago... Its on my 2016 tb 350...... Still had lot much of time and energy again to go out with friends for dinner...... Man the bike may not touch 110 or more but its definitely a cruise bike to enjoy the long rides

Nice video, my personal opinion, without an airseat doing these many kms on a motorcycle can cause back ache and your butt to become so sore, you can't lie down on your back. I have done rides ranging from 300 - 1600 kms non-stop and from my experience as soon as you cross the 300 mark, you will want to take more breaks to soothe your aching rear. I used gel seats and air seats and found that the biggest advantage of using an air seat is that you can more around. This gives your butt much needed break from all the strain of the body

I have done 1000 MILES in 24 hours many times, and 1500 MILES in 36 hours several times, on several different bikes. Of course, I had the U.S. interstate highway system to do it on. Not sure I could do it on a Meteor 650. It would need to be able to hold an actual GPS speed of 80 miles per hour pretty much the entire way and still have enough in reserve so the engine wasn't being run at full throttle all the time.

Excellent review! To be honest I do not think many riders are willing to do 1000 km in one day, whatever the bike they ride, so the fact that you did it and found the SM60 comfortable for around 800 km was surprisingly good.

Well a memorable ride... And beautiful cinematography. Brings back my fond memories of 2003 when I ventured out with my newly acquired red colour Pulsar 180cc and rode from hyderabad to bangalore... Roughly 600kms. Bum was sore after 350 kms and in those times, we didn't have access to so many motorcycle gears as available now. I had only a leather jacket on, jeans and woodland shoes. That's all. Not even gloves. Drove thru rain, dust, broken roads, and truck traffic. Back and bum was totally sore when I reached after 12. 5 hours of riding with a few breaks in between. Night ride was really scary as the headlight was too weak for highways and approaching vehicles. Took 1 day complete rest lying on my stomach.... Due to sore bum 😅. But enjoyed the ride thoroughly and is still vivid in my memories. Sold it after 12 years. Very soon would buy a Himalayan 450 or shotgun 650 scrambler... Let's see. And thanks for the nice video.

Hey guys, great video. Very poetic. Is 90-110 kmph the sweet spot for the SM650? I thought this can easily cruise at 120-130 kmph. Or is because you guys didn't want to go that fast? I know there's the challenge of shooting as well.
@BikeWaleOfficial
@BikeWaleOfficial Жыл бұрын
90-110kmph is definitely the sweet spot. But the motorcycle can easily do 120kmph all day long, if the roads and traffic allows. For us, it was a combination of speed interceptors and traffic that kept our speeds in check.
@MAX-xw8xq
@MAX-xw8xq Жыл бұрын
So nice of #BikeWale to keep the speeds in legal limits! I believe riding at higher speeds mentally tire you as you lead lot of attention and sap your energy. Staying at 105kmph indicated gives me gps speed of 97-99 kmph and just munch miles.

This reminds me of my ride on my r15 v2, it was a back and butt breaking ride but boy it was fun. I sold my bike recently due lack of Yamaha parts availability and switched to a RE bike hunter to be precise. The rear suspension is unreasonably stiff for a commuter bike like hunter. I wish they had used a softer comfortable suspension.
