Thank you, that was a great video, I hope you'll keep making them. A great vibe overall, just like the one in Japan. Makes me want to hope on my bike and leave right now.

I think things have pretty much returned to normal. This whole Covid thing seems forgotten.

You were probably the last ones to do such a trip! Congratulations

I travelled there for work for 5 years and wasn't able to explore so I went to Havana in Jan, 2020 (looks like I just missed you!) I had given some thought about returning and biking around... You guys have sold me on the idea !

Really nice video! I'm planing a similar bike trip in april and I was wondering what you guys did with the bike boxes and the Evoc bag? Did you guys left them at the hotel and/or airport in Havana? Thanks!
@JohnBr02 жыл бұрын
Yep - left them all at the Airbnb and booked it for the first and last days of our trip

Isn't it risky to drink the water in Cuba without first treating it?
@JohnBr03 жыл бұрын
We filtered everything - but we all got SO sick. I'd highly recommend filtering / treating / avoiding ice in cocktails etc. Be really really vigilant about it.

what passport did you go in with? and do you apply for visa at the airport or prior to booking the ticket?
@JohnBr04 жыл бұрын
I have a British passport, but my three friends all went with American passports. We bought visas before booking flights and went in support of the Cuban people. It was super simple.

Awesome video! I just booked my flight to Cuba and I'll be there at the end of March...still debating if I should bring my bike or not. Would you have done this ride by yourself?
@JohnBr02 жыл бұрын
Yes. Solo travel is great. Go for it.

Great! Just purchased an Evoc bike bag...I almost fainted when checking out. Haha! Was it complicated to get out of Havana to the highway? How many casa particulares have you stayed in from Havana to Viñales?
@JohnBr02 жыл бұрын
@@samt.1369 naaaa easy as pie. There aren’t many cars outside of the center of the cities really. We stayed in casaP’s every night of the trip! 😎

@@JohnBr0 I've been to many parts of the world for hiking but this will be my first bikepacking trip ever. Chilean/Argentinian Patagonia is also a place I'd like to revisit for bikepacking if I like this experience.

I went to Cuba a long time ago you had to show customs you had a hotel which was state registered because people was renting there rooms out to tourists and I guess not paying any tax was that the case with you.

I got food poisoning in Cuba too. The chicken! Made riding torture.
