Biking From Fairfax To DC On A Super Fun Ebike | How To Capital Bike Share

Looking for fun outdoor activities in the DC area that are fairly cheap? Why not rent an E-Bike from Capital Bike Share. These bikes are all over DC, Maryland and Northern Virginia and they turn a strenuous bike ride into a fun coasting adventure. With the trails we have in this area, you don't have to ride in the streets. Simply look at the trails and plan a trip.
You've seen the bike stations all over from Reston to Fairfax To DC and MD, and they now have E-Bikes. All you need is the App and a Credit Card and you can pick one up in hundreds of locations across the area.
In this video I took the NEW I-66 Trail to the W&OD Trail to the Custis Trail and went from downtown Fairfax all the way into Georgetown.

This was a FUN one. I loved exploring these trails and seeing how easy it was to get around without a car. To note, at the end I tell you the Time/Miles/Cost. That number includes the 50 times along the trail I stopped to film and move cameras and explore off trail for the video. The very very very end of the video gives you a better idea of the time & cost to get from Fairfax to DC, which was $12. On the way home I went straight home as fast as I could.

Good times! Back in the day me and my buddies used to ride our bikes and yes even our mopeds from Reston to Springfield and Arlington all the time on the W&OD when we were young teens and before we were old enough to drive. A lot has changed since then, but this brought back memories.

In the past I've walked the W&OD trail and did a crazy Vienna to Reston Bar/Brewery Crawl. And I've used segments of the trail on foot to go from place to place or just to walk when I lived near it. But this was my first big chunk of the trails. Its great. My original plan was to go Vienna to Reston, I may do that with a real bike.

That's some commitment! I'm especially impressed you biked back in this weather as well. I would've taken the metro back as far as I could before biking any of the rest (who am I kidding? I would've Ubered back all the way LOL).

I thought about metro and realized I’d have to walk or scoot back to Wawa anyway. Ride home was more fun. Cooler temps and sunset. But my legs were dead
