From the Huffington Post:
Making his first public appearance since the arrest of Aaron Hernandez, Patriots coach Bill Belichick addressed the murder charge against the former New England tight end during a press conference on Wednesday.
"I'm going to address the situation involving Aaron Hernandez. I felt that it was important enough to do that prior to the start of camp. It's a sad day. It's really a sad day on so many levels," Belichick told reporters as he read from prepared remarks. "Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the victim and I extend my sympathy really to everyone who's been impacted. A young man lost his life and his family has suffered a tragic loss and there's no way to understate that."

@El Chivato CTE affects mood, reasoning, impulse control, and overstimulates the amygdala which results in violent behavior. It's not that different. Justin Strelzyk drove his vehicle into oncoming traffic and collided with a semi truck, killing himself and potentially killing the other driver. Your opinion that there is no similarity is incorrect, and your namecallling and referring to people as "retarded" and having "downs syndrome" is completely inappropriate

Robert Krap and Bill Belicheat KNEW Aaron Hernandez was a thug entering the draft but drafted him anyway! They've already proven through their actions that this is a Win At All Costs organization (for further verification, see Spygate and Deflategate), and the drafting of this thug, and possibly Serial Killer, is no exception. That AFC Championship in 2011 cost the life of Odin Lloyd.

@@anthonygomez2267 Once again, complete and utter nonsense. There is literally a USA Today database that has tracked over a thousand crimes NFL players have been charged with since the year 2000. Many which are serious felony charges. You can look through each individual charge yourself. The belief that NFL teams prioritize character before talent is a fantasy. Aaron Hernandez had issues before he arrived at Florida and he was only suspended one game out of a possible 40 in his time there. A large chunk of NFL players come from gang backgrounds. A guy was murdered in Ray Lewis's vehicle and he got off by snitching on two guys that have been acquitted. He played another 12 years. Cris Carter instructed young players to get a "fall guy" to take the blame for the crimes they commit. It's on video. This is something he did growing up. There is no NFL without thugs and criminals.

Belichick is lying when he says that the Patriots evaluated Aaron's past before putting him on the team because Aaron already had a reputation of being difficult before he was drafted. That is why the other teams didn't even want to consider drafting him. That is why Aaron was the 113th pick overall and was the third in his position with the Patriots at the beginning. Aaron Hernandez's brain was studied for CTE and he had the worst case that doctor had ever seen for his age. The game of football scrambled his brains and led him to making violent/terrible decisions. It never surprised me that Belichick wasn’t curt here. Guys like Belichick adjust to the situation. He’s curt when it suits the Pats and their cash flow and, in circumstances like this, gives a wordy dissertation because this looks bad and he knows that giving a curt response could affect their social status or cash flow. That’s the worst part I’m dealing with conservatives like owner Robert Kraft and Belichick.
