I think Dans political takes are reductive and ill-informed. Dan usually resorts to his tropes when describing anything in the political realm which is "politics are poisonous", "everything is divise", and the worst of all "we get the politicians we deserve". If you really inspect Dans political takes they're not nuanced they're just him wallowing in despair without actual solutions. With Biden, he's doing the moral grandstanding of saying "I'm concerned about his age", when I could go clip for clip with Trump showing his age just as much. The selective outrage that some Dems like Dan or Pod Save America (Tommy Vietor) are doing to denounce Biden is patently absurd. Its this absurd headline grabbing/click baity move to say "look at me im showing genuine concern about our Democratic leaders age so it shows how empathetic I am". We have to be practical as Dem voters and cant stir up chaos now. You can tell Dan is saying these things without actual knowledge or understanding of the political sphere and how terrible it would be to switch nominees 4 months away. Just don't take Dans words seriously, like Stugotz with soccer. Dan is just letting the writer in him come out so he can wax poetic about this moment in time being "the beginning of the crumbling of democracy/the republic as we know it and we can't do anything about it".
