Arguing with a girlfriend is such a dreadful deal. Especially when it's supposedly about the WAY you did something instead of what she's actually pissed about, hearing the word "no". She finds a book of 500,000 baby names. Reads it, when I approach her. She says, “You should by this book for me for my baby shower”. I look at the price. It’s $175 dollars, at the time! I told her, “If I’m going to spend $175 on this book, you better not name that baby; Tom, Dick or Harry”. After giving birth to the baby, she named it David. I thought that direct actions would be a better because I could do things for them that were worth more money than I could spend on their gift. Now that I make money, I don't value it so much and I'm way better at predicting what would interest and obtaining it or just asking them outright and then nit feeling super awkward about it.
